I never stayed on property prior to buying my DVC contracts. I had planned to do so, but Covid prevented that from happening.

zero but we did a lot of research. last straw was staying at all star sports during cheerleading competitions. never turned back.

LOL! I predict that the All Stars are one of the best to encourage DVC. I was staying at All Star Music when I took the tour, and I still say that the comparison is one reason why DVC looked outstanding.

I stayed in regular rooms at GF, Poly and BC before I bought. What turned me is I stayed with friends in an OKW 2 bedroom in March 1999. I bought BWV in September 1999 (loved the area when I stayed at BC).

When we purchased while staying onsite, they took off our entire week stay cost from our direct purchase. Our rep even found us a room at BLT on the 16th floor near the lounge for the rest of our week. Walking to the lounge and to MK was significantly better than navigating through cheerleaders at All Star Sports.

2x, but didn't pay for either. DH was working Lotusphere conference in 1998 and they had us at the Boardwalk. Loved that area so we got a discounted rate for the Swan the next year. After we had kids we stayed at value resorts except in 2007 when my Dad put his timeshare points in RCI for us to use at Saratoga. My mom died in 2009 and we used some of the inheritance to buy DVC resale, OKW. Our favorite resort is still Boardwalk although we've stayed at most of them ..and least favorite is Saratoga.

We stayed in the Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge on two separate trips with our kids longgggg before either were DVC resorts. So only twice. Then we bought at the BWV in 2000, added on there a few years later and then added on in AKV in 2007/2009/2011 after a one night stay in Jambo house. Our total contracts are for BWV and both Jambo and Kidani.

Still not tired of it and can't wait for our December trip!

I bought into Boardwalk, sight unseen. I had stayed at Coronado a couple of times, but had never stepped foot in the building before I purchased resale.

My second resale, a couple of months later, was a Copper Creek. I had been to wilderness lodge, mostly by accident. We got rained out from Blizzard Beach, and that was the first resort bus that I saw, so I hopped on. I loved the building and the feel of it. When I was looking for where else to buy, it was a no brainer, especially once I had seen the holiday decor pictures.

Great resort to land on, sight unseen!

We had stayed once in Old Key West, cruised a few times with Disney before we decided to buy DVC.
