Hi everybody!

Just learned about renting timeshares and am so excited about it! But I don´t really understand everything. That´s where I thought you all could help. I stayed at Hilton Grand vacation seaworld last year and really loved it. Next year I´m going with my younger siblings (real young,17 and 15) and we are all going to pay for ourselves. That´s why renting a timeshare seems so good, especially the price. :confused3

So what are your basic tips?
Where can I find rentals for outside disney?
What do I watch out for so I don´t get fooled?
Can you rent longer than 7 days?

Is there anybody here who knows alot about these things who would consider being my guide trough all this? Maybe for a small fee?

Thanks everybody!!

Corinne148,

Do you have any family or friends that own a timeshare and are members of Interval (an exchange company)? My mom and dad and sister are members of Interval International and they get 12 "Getaways" a year with their Interval membership. My brothers and sisters take advantage of the getaways. I have a brother going to Orlando in September and he got a 2 bedroom at Marriott Grande Vista (beautiful property) for around $400 or so for the week. My husband and I used one of their "getaways" back in April and stayed a week on Maui in a 1 bedroom condo on the beach for $694.

I'll bump this thread for you. Also, please be sure to post your question on the DIS's Orlando and Hotels Attractions board. You'll probably get lots of responses over there.

Good Luck! :flower:

definitely come over to the Orlando board

here are some sites

www.skyauction.com
click on USA/Canada
Click on florida only (right side)
click on hotels only (down right)

you are looking at the 7days only - these are the timeshares. only bid in the last few minutes that bid is open. So register now!!!

also
www.condodirect.com
this is II getaways (without Marriott and a couple of others) - for higher prices than II getaways (about $100 to $200 more)

www.redweek.com
be carefully here - some of these are rented by owners - others by brokers - read the ad carefully before you send anyone an email

www.tug2.net
this is the timeshare users group. you can find an add in classifed section and you can look in the last minute rental on BBS board.

you might find the HGVC in the skyauction selection. but there is catch most of skyauction really good buys are last minute. In the last 10 days before it is availability. So if you need to plan a couple of years in advance this is not a good website for your needs.

both skyauction and condodirect have their best buys in 60 days or less for skyauction it is generally 14 days or less.

Thanks so much for your replies! Unfortunately I don´t have any family that owns. Will be posting on the orlando board instead.

The website I have checked the most are redweek. Why do I have to be careful there? It seems pretty good. Something I need to watch out for?

redweek can be a great deal.

however sometimes the broker(if you are renting through a broker and not a owner) can have their own fees which are not included in the price. oh if this happen complaints immediately to redweek and find another person.

so be careful.

try to rent from an owner not a broker.
