Check out Flightware.com

Disclaimer! I am not affiliated with this company at all. I found them during a google search while seeing what the average cost of my flight was.

I love flight aware! I use it to track my husband when he flies company plane. Yes I track him! He told me too!

Plus it lets you look at your flight and see the average arrival/departure. And if you are waiting for a flight to come in or a connection you can find out where that flight is.

Last year I was texting my dh while he was flying for work. His flight was delayed landing but he didn't know how long. I just kept him updated on what I saw. He had a connection in Dallas (I think) and they held the plane since quite a few were delayed due to weather. But I was able to send him pictures of the airport so he knew which way to go once he landed.

Thanks,'I'm having a look at it now, but I can't see where to compare prices...

If you click on the flight then the map shows up to the right of the map it shows a box with status, aircraft, speed, etc...in that box is fare. Click on it.

This is cool, thanks
My "normal" flight average is just about what I pay all the time, $330
The low is $100 round trip, I would love to see that one seat one day price because it's not happening often

Thanks! I was looking at the mobile site and couldn't see it.

Guess I must be missing something. I'm sure I've got the right page, flightaware. But is this just for flights going now and within a few days? When I put in my flight # and SW, it brings up some flight between portland and nevada somewhere, not chicago to orlando in late Nov.

It worked for me because I am going in a few days :)

Not sure how to accomodate a flight during a different time of year.

Nope, you're not missing anything. The flight you have just isn't currently on the Chicago (MDW/ORD) to Orlando (MCO). It will re-rout later in the year. That's how ours is right now too. I know it's scheduled for the future, but the current schedule is a different route at this time. For a while, both of our flights were different routes, but now just one of them is. give it time, the routes will change.

On a side note, one feature I like of Flight Aware is that I can export the .KML files and import them into Google Earth to see the exact route we took along with altitudes. Pretty neat to be able to see what we flew over on various trips.
