I saw those last night at just 1 store in MA. I figured since they said Grand Opening, that it was the Grand Opening of another new Walmart or SuperWalmart. :confused3 I've done a grand opening at a new store before.

In our area, 2 new stores opened on the same day last time. So maybe its a common thing for Walmart to group their Grand Openings?

ETA: I figured they were store grand openings because of the time of the event. Bright and early. That's how mine was before.

I just got a call from MCG (Marketing Connect Group) they offered me a demo next Sunday at a Bed Bath & Beyond. I'd be making smoothies in a blender that BB&B would supply. She told me it is $13 per hour. Does anyone have any feedback on them? They only pay once per month on the 15th. It is scheduled from 12-4. They give me a a visa GC to go & buy supplies with & set up time within the 12-4 shift. So, she said that my demo can run 2-3 hours. It sounded interesting...

I would go to www.volition.com They have a forum for merchandising & demos. Most companies had their own thread at one time. Be warned though. Use search & read before you ASK anything. lol At one time they were grumpy about answering questions that already had been answered. Sorta like this thread.

Lots of good info on that thread. I was able to find out about NCiM that I was asking about and many others I will check out. Thanks Splash!

New WM event for 10/4 showed up here this morning at only two stores. Cot'n Wash DROPPS, no event instruction up yet. Get this, the time is 1:50 to 6:50. :confused3 Unfortunately, I have a volunteer commitment at school that starts at 5:00.

Off to WM to do “Jif to Go” shortly.

Thanks, I got the same at 2 WMs near me - ones that never have anything. The times are really strange!

Nothing up for me yet, but I want to thank all of you that post them when you see them. They never show up for me until a few hours later than the rest of yall. It's kinda strange.

Same here. Just 1 store in 40 miles. Not a city I'll go to unfortunately.

I don't think anyone besides me has booked the Cinnamon cereal at Target on 10/14. Still pages of those left. :confused3

VOLITION.COM......I meant to add. Does anyone else ever get the impression that they don't want to be VERY helpful. I mean they answer your question & ONLY your question. They never volunteer info. Afterall, they are your competitors. Glad we aren't like that here.

Yes, very unfriendly group as a whole... especially on the Secret Shopper threads. No specifics given.. just direction to "go apply at all of them." Well, I'm sorry but I don't really like giving my informaton to literally dozens of online companies without knowing who is good/legit etc...

mcg is great to work for--
I did a lot of coffee demos for them

Pay was always correct and on time.

Thanks! They sent me the paperwork to get started. I don't think they pay as much as Spi but maybe they will have more jobs.

Just got an email that Computerlink must be done online from now on.

Just received the same email. Hope they've tested it and it works.

Mr. & Mrs. Sunflower as I call them (they wear Sunflower group name tags) were at WM today doing an event for NCiM while I was doing Jif. This is the older couple who alternate working every other hour. I asked Mr. Sunflower what would happen if they were audited? He said “I don’t care. H-ll, they’re here every week taking our picture. When I see her coming I say here’s the Gestapo“. :rotfl: He said they are audited every week. He proceeded to tell me they also work for MC, but don’t get that many jobs anymore that’s why they mainly do NCiM. Without asking what they made, I said “don’t they pay less”? His reply “H-ll yes. We work 6 hours and make $60”. A couple of hours later a lady walks by my table and I ask her if she’d like to try Jif. She tells me she was just in taking a picture of “my competetor”. I said “Oh, you’re the Gestapo”. She laughs. She use to do demos herself and got tired of it. She now audits for NCiM. She said most people recognize her after the first time she takes their picture. She stands around a few minutes and observes, takes a picture, and has a form to fill out. I thought it was interesting they are audited so much. I told her I didn’t know if I’d ever been audited.

One weirdo today. She was wearing, in the store mind you, earmuffs, sunglasses, gloves, long pants and a long sleeve shirt. Now it has cooled down here from the 90’s to upper 70’s, but the gloves and earmuff sure looked out of place. :hippie:

I haven't gotten an email yet, but the word "must" bothers me. If I work on Cape Cod again & stay at parents, their dial up will take me 2 hours to complete Computerlink. I'm not kidding. I do not use their computer at all. Its a 1999 computer still using Windows 95. YES, 95!!!

I'll have to beg DH to let me take his government laptop with sprintcard with me.

Kpauley, your elderly couple reminds me of something. I once had a demo person who works for multiple companies tell me that when she accidentally books herself on the same day at 2 different jobs, she asks her mother or a friend to do one of the jobs for her. :sad2: I just couldn't believe it.

The email did say you had 72 hours to complete report........
