I have no motivation to get ready for 8th Continent soymilk & Curves cereal today. Ugh!

I did my 4th Big G cereal yesterday. I'm all cerealed out I think.

Done with Curves Cereal & 8th Continent Soymilk at Walmart. That was a bit of a tough one. First lady thru it in the trash because I didn't have a spoon for her -- and loudly complained that that was STUPID!. Another lady thru it in the trash because she didn't like it. It was just plain hard to get people to try it. I'm guessing either because of the name (implying you needed to lose weight  ) or maybe thinking it had something to do with gym memberships. :confused3 No clue.

But once you could convince people to try it...they pretty much liked it, especially the Honey Crunch flavor. The script was wrong about 110 calories. Its 100 for Whole Grain Crunch & 190 for Honey Crunch...so I just left off the calorie part of the script.

I sold only 12 boxes....compared to about the average 25-30 boxes of Cheerios & Chex I've been selling the last week. I found it funny that the kids wanted to try it & actually liked it & had to tell their parents to try it. Or when the guys liked it & wanted to buy it. But hey, nothing on it says its for woman only. Just the name Curves implies that.

I had taped one of the brochures to the cereal shelf in the aisle along with an index card stating "samples today at end of aisle" with an arrow. That helped get some traffic down to me. Did the same on the soymilk case door. Only sold one soymilk....maybe because I had a $1 coupon from the newspaper for it.

Just glad that one is over.
Good luck to those doing Curves cereal at Target later.

Today went by so fast! Most people were excited to try both. I had a few people dump the milk in the cereal and then ask me for a spoon :rolleyes1 LOL I sold about 25 boxes of cereal and about a dozen of the soymilk.

OMG! I totally forgot to tell you guys about one customer yesterday. I was doing Nature Valley Oats & Honey cereal, Cheerios Oat Cluster Crunch & Chocolate Chex.

Well, he starts looking at the sugar amounts & whether they have sugar or corn syrup. Complaining about sugar amounts in food. blah blah blah He starts going into this whole thing about corn syrup being in everything, and how they are making ethonal out of corn & thats just going to make the gas prices go up.......... (I stopped listening at some point)...... :rolleyes1

I finally glance down, and all he has in his carriage is 2 30-packs of beer! And here he is doing some self rightous health addict speech.

I don't know if he saw me glance at his carriage, but he shut up & left after that. :rotfl:

That's really good! :thumbsup2

I was bored & started looking at food in people carriages. LOTS of frozen pizzas, prepared food, soda, chips just junky food in general. Wrong cereal for todays crowd at this store I think. I actually notice this alot at this store. Even when I shop there, I find it hard to stay focused on buying good food & not all junky food.

Anyone else have that problem at Walmart Supercenter?

I've experienced that too when I was doing Lifestyle Salads. I ended up taking home half the salads. I needed more salad in my life anyway. :thumbsup2

Today I did my very last Coppertone. It was pouring here. We had urban flood advisories and let's just say it was s-l-o-w.... :rotfl: :rotfl:
I heard a lot of "bad day for suncreen" comments. It just means more money for Disney. :wizard:

Well I think you did great!!! I did the cheerios one today and only sold 16 boxes total.... The lady beside me was doing the Curves and she was having a hard time too, I think she only sold 3 boxes....

Ok - so I gotta ask - and maybe the answer is somewhere in the 400 pages of this post, so please forgive me if so. Do these jobs titled as a "secret shopper" work? TIA!

Don't know because these 400 pages have nothing to do with secret shopping. The entire thread is about being a demo person / passing out samples of new products at stores.

Obviously the demo job works or the thread wouldn't be over 1 year old & still going.

Sorry I asked.

I am getting so frustrated. I check the website at least 15 times a day and there are never any events. I had 1 event in July, 1 booked for this Sunday and 1 September 1st. Other than that there is never anything to book. I really like this job and I am not looking to work every week. I was hoping for 3-4 events a month, at this point I can barely get 1. I don't know if my area in OKC is oversaturated with demoers or what. I keep reading about all these people talking about having 10 events booked for this month. What is the secret to finding a job?

Sorry I asked.

OK, where did my reply go?

No need to be sorry. Just didn't want you waiting around for secret shopper answers. Demo job questions we can answer. 400 pages worth.

Come join us. Depending upon what state you live in, the pay is either $70 for 5 hours or $80 for 5 hrs. :thumbsup2 Just start reading at the beginning. We usually suggest new folks read at least the first 50 pages since just about every question imaginable is answered there. After that, it just alot of us sharing our work experience of the day.

Welcome.

 Hey, did the 8/9 Toaster Strudels & Hamburger Helper go off-date in the last few hours? The couple that I was watching disappeared. Grrrrrr. First time I missed getting my off-dates.

The Hamburger Helper went offdate sometime late yesterday afternoon. Not sure exactly when since I seem to LIVE on the computer checking for new jobs. :)

Anyway I have a job lined up for the next 5 weekends (after this one) but want more Sept. ones to come out so I can fill Sept. This is addictive. I had so much fun at my first one. Although waiting almost two weeks to be paid is a bit I think. I thought if we mailed paperwork Monday, they processed around Wed and a check would come by the following week--maybe Mon - Tues. But I sent my paperwork on July 23, and my check is "expected" NEXT Mon - Tues. But if that's the rhythm, that's the rhythm. I can live with it.

THANK YOU again to everyone here, especially SplshMtn99, for their wonderful assistance!!!! :worship:

BY the way--I updated the post on page 438 with the list I created. I added info about the weekend phone number and for Monday events not activating your MC card until Monday morning tip.

I really should get packing & start my drive to Cape Cod for this weekends events. Someone kick me off the computer please. :)

New events popping up --at least in GA. August 25 & 26. (Immaculate Baking Organic Kids Cookies and Honest Kids Pouch)

WooHoo! The box w/ my table, apron, etc. just showed up. Now I'm all set for my first event on 8/18. I feel like one of the cool kids now!! :cool1:

Anyone else feel like they are going to be good friends with the fedex person? My fedex guy asked me yesterday how far we are getting on the garden railroad since a couple days before.

:headache: :headache:
It took me 4 hrs & 15 mins to get to my parents house. My car overheated on the way & DH had to come get me & swap cars on the highway. GRRRRR!!! I just spent $590 on my car this week on new plugs, wires, coil.....and other stuff because it was running really rough. Now this crap!

I get to my parents & they don't have A/C. Too cheap. It was in the 90's today. I'm soaked from sitting on the highway waiting for DH to come get me....and now I'm just hot.

I want to cry!!!!! :headache: :sad1:
