Coke Zerp Cherry tomorrow at Target. I'm wondering how the heck this is going to work. I'm envisioning a continuous line of people with their tiny cups lined up at the self-serve beverage dispenser refilling with ANY flavor they desire.

Also, people are supposed to be able to pay for product at Food Ave if they decide to purchase. Food Ave always has like one person working...and they have to cook & cash out people.

I hope they have the soda in the self-serve...and I HOPE they have a full tank of carbonated water hooked up. I would hate to be the cause of their soda machine going empty mid-event.

And extra work for them to keep the trash cans empty.

Almost seems TOO easy for us.

I'm thinking about taking extra cups into the store with me. I see me with a constant line while I hand out empty cups while people are leaving the store. You surely can't set up anywhere else on this one.

DH came home from a military training trip in Burlington VT. Tonight he said there is a job opening there at the base that they absolutely want HIM for....they said they would hire him & no interview. (Its a civilian job...which means he could leave the military & his 3 military jobs!!!! 25+ yrs served so he can retire) They've worked on projects with him in the past. DH has set up the computer system at his work...and they want the same system.

So, DH asks me what I would think about moving to Burlington, VT.

MY FIRST QUESTION.........Do they have a Walmart or Target? Even better if a Walmart Supercenter. (How sick is that for a first question? )

I looked online. There are 2 Walmarts, but supercenter is 37 miles away (in NY). Heck, I was doing that drive before we just got the ones near us. Nearest Target is 81 miles away.

He brought home 2 house listing magazines. He's got a few questions for them...but OMG...this could actually happen.

I finally got around to reading the Cherry Zero instructions; I'd forgotten that this was the fountain one!

Then it dawned on me that my Food Avenue (which is really just a Pizza Hut & Starbucks storefront type deal) has had issues with their fountain soda for weeks now. OMG if I have to stand there & 'promote' only; I'll scream!!!! I hate when the product isn't available to sample.

Cherry Coke Zero for me today too. I hope I’m not in for a traffic nightmare getting there. I’m at the Target closest to campus where OSU is having their graduation today and former President Bill Clinton is speaking. I have to go one exit past the exit to the stadium where graduation is and the gates open at 11:00. If I’d know this when I booked, I’d chose a different location.

6/16 still not off-date this morning. Do some events not go off-date?

Not bringing extra cups. I didn't realize we were already getting 400 cups for 4 hrs. That should be enough....I hope.

Well THAT's STUPID!! The 6/16 Kmart Hershey's events are up for off-dates....but the ONLY off-date is 6/17 (sun) while we are doing Pepsi at Target.

Back from Cherry Coke... not as bad as I thought. The fountain ran out of it at 2:45 - just in time for me to break down!!

Did anyone else get alot of basic questions that they didn't include in the selling points or script? Like what sweetener do they use? What makes it different from Diet Coke?

I've got two events next weekend, then a weekend off, then we are off to Florida!!!

I had trouble getting people interested with an empty cup, so the Food Ave guy suggested I fill the cups. I did about 5 at a time & just used a tray to bring them a couple of feet over to my table. It went much better after that. (Rebel.....lol)

Yes, sweetener & diet questions. I regretted not checking out their website.

Not exactly sure how many cases I sold. Coke guy was filling shelf while I was setting up. I slapped coupons on everything on the shelf & took some cases & headed for the front of the store. At end of day, coupons that I had stuck on were mostly gone. So, I don't know if people just took off the coupons, or if someone restocked the small shelf.

I did sell 3 off my table up front which meant people had to go back thru the register.

I had ALOT of people who seriously made nasty faces when I offered them a sample --- without even trying it. Just because of the word cherry.

And I had some people not like it after trying it. I tried some...and I wondered if the soda fountain was calibrated right. It was REALLY cherry & sweet.

And others who loved it.

Ran into someone I used to know from the bank. Her daughter is grown & now 16. Got to talking about this job....and gave out a referral card. Sorry, Martha, you had your chance to come up here & take all these left over jobs. I think she's mostly interested for the summer, so I don't know how much good it will do her.

I had pop in the machine and I had plenty of product but no kit. The manager looked everywhere. Finally found me 2 boxes that had been open, 300 cops, MORE napkins and some gloves. I didn't have a table wrap or coupons

Kids liked the cherry Coke. Adults did not. I don't think I sold any.

Well did the cherry coke zero today... None in the fountain,,, Only (8) 2 liters, and only (8) 12 packs... sold all 8 and had to use (3) 2 liters for samples.... I was in the back near the sodas so I didn't see everone like I would have if I was near the front.... Glad that it is over..

I was shopping at my Target today and was hoping for a sample of Cherry Coke (and to see who my competition was), but no one was there sampling. I guess my store either didn't have the event, or they didn't show up again. Wonder if I'll get a call in a day or two, asking me to do it offdate like last time!?!

Sorry you all had a bad time with the cherry zero. I thought it was ok. I stopped in my ST yesterday just to say hi. Seemed like quite a few people didn't want to even try it. I think people didn't understand. They are used to us hand feeding them.

This make me concerned that the Pepsi max might definitely be a very long boring 4 hours.

I’ll have to say, yesterday was one of my better days. First, traffic was heavy getting there, but moving. Then for a first, they knew I was coming and was prepared for me. The fountain was “full” and they had 2 backup containers of the product. My event kit was in Food Ave. ready for me. They had only shelved 20 12pks. which lasted until 2:20 at which time they went in the back and brought out 4 more for a customer request. Since I was leaving soon, I didn’t ask for more to be brought out.

I always get asked “what sweetener” and “is there caffeine” at every cola event I’ve done. Anymore, that’s the first thing I look at on the package to be ready for the questions. The one I didn’t know was - “What’s the difference between this and Diet Cherry Coke”. Heck, I didn’t even know there was a Diet Cherry Coke. They have a bizillion products.

I too had a lot of puzzled looks when I handed them an empty cup. Of course I hadn’t finished my spiel yet letting them know the product was in Food Avenue. Had one young man say “I know why there’s zero calories, the cup’s empty”. We laughed and I used his line off and on the rest of the day to get laughs.

Nothing this week until Hershey on Saturday.
