Want to be a CL, how?

okay, I have played since VMK opened and applied to be CL but was told I need to play longer.... Why?

I think you're just not quite getting to the hours and minutes quota VMK sets for community leader applicants. I'm thinking you need to put in at least 50 hours of VMK time for at least 30 days before you can put in an application. Just keep trying...the day will come when you can apply.

And remember...community leaders have no powers at all which really makes us nothing special. Apply on a whim, but don't let your life hang on if you're made a comunity leader!

It's not a problem. I just don't want you to have a misconception about the whole CL deal. It's not "super exclusive club." We're just here to pass along the power of knowledge!

With no offense to you personally Azure...it would be excellent if people wouldn't call it an "in crowd." I mean CLs are nothing special at all...I mean look at me! Not special here!

I dont know, i see quite a few cl's that dont say 2 words to each other when they are in the same room. And others are very friendly with one another, but are also friendly with those who are NOT cl's as well (it just all depends on the cl). as fly pointed out, to some it may be a real "in crowd" thing and those are the ones who suddenly think they are yavn when they become a cl lol. But to most people on the outside looking in i think its just a perceived "grass is greener" thing, which is how it should be considering a cl's powers, or lack thereof. No offense to the cl's. who knows, maybe one day i'll become one and i can be flys sidekick to make sure all the heads can fit in the room. wouldnt that be a hoot. If you want to help people, become a cl. If you want to have an exclusive group of friends or to get stuff, go make them and go buy it and dont worry about the cl thing. Its when people confuse the two that creates problems.

my month is almost up, and i hope i can apply by wednesday, i know being a CL isnt anything ''special'' per se, but i would like to help new ppl and safeguard the game from nasty ppl, and being a CL gets you a sort of respect.

As for safeguarding from nasty people, we can't really do anything more than a regular player. We have the same "Report button" as everybody else.

As for respect? Actually, since I've become a CL, I've had some VERY nasty people treat me like complete dirt. Telling me they will report me if I don't help them with something RIGHT THAT SECOND or take them all over the kingdom to find Hidden Mickeys. I've had kids who had FITS because I removed them from my friends list (for various reasons I won't go into now) and when they confronted me on the issue, their friends jumped in too saying they would report me for taking that person from my list!!

I even had a kid last night tell me "Don't talk to me." When I tried to answer his question. He then went on to say "See, I can spell, how do you like that?", obviously from viewing a post of mine regarding the annoyance level of kids running up to you going OMG OMG GIVE ME UR INFERNO MAGIC PLZ FOR THIS NED PIN!!1!1

People need to chill out and get over the green-eyed monster thing.

Everybody needs to realize that the CL title is no more than two letters that tell the people in the game that you've got the know-how if they need the help. You can help without the title right?

Anyway, good luck in applying, I just wanted to make sure you knew about some of the ugliness of being a CL.
