Hi all. We are looking at buying into DVC. One thing that is important to my family is proximity to quick food. My husband LOVES the refillable mug option. So my question is, which home resort has the best proximity to a quick serve restaurant option?

We stayed at AK last January and found it reasonable to walk from our room to the restaurant. Any others similar to that?

Thanks in advance.

VWL is not to spread out .... it is right next to the lodge and is like an additional small hotel. saratoga springs is way spread out. I think that AKL Jambo is not too spread out either.

OKW if you request to be close to the main building.
BWV or BCV if you request to be close to the elevators.

The walk from our BCV villa to the marketplace was less than 3 minutes. The walk from our room at BLT to the Contempo Cafe was less than 5 minutes. The walk from our VWL villa to Roaring Forks was about 5 minutes.

We also stayed at BWV and the walk to the bakery in the morning was between 5 and 7 minutes.

BLT, AKV-Jambo and VWL all have the drink refill and quick service food and are not spread out. BCV has the nearby drink refill and some quick service food and is not spread out. If the basis is drink refills and quick service food one of these 4 would be my choice.

BWV has the drink refill although no self service and the quick service food is a bit limited. AKV-Kidani has a self serve drink refill but the quick service food location is at Jambo.

BCV - the villas are close to the marketplace for the refill station, and there is also poolside.

AKV - outside the door Concierge level;)

We have been members for 10 years and while this may sound strange we have never stayed at our home resort - BWV. We have never had any major problems getting what we want 7 months out given a lttle flexibilty at Christmas time. I think we have lost at most 7 points in all these years. So my point is, don't try to make a decision based on restaurant choices - these will change too over the years. You will also find that the resort you like the most today will tend to change as you experiecne other resorts and as new resorts are built. Our kids loved OKW and did not want to stay anywhere else until we stayed at AKV and now that is their favorite.

In BCV,VWL, and I THINK AKV Jambo, you can refill your mug without getting wet if it's raining. And at BCV, you can walk to B&C without gettting wet in the rain, a big plus IMHO.

To approach this from the other side, OKW, BCV & BWV are somewhat limited on quick service options. Of those not too spread out and fairly close to good Quick service options, VWL & AKV Jambo are likely the best. Note: I left out BLT just because I didn't have a good feel for the quick service option there.

Almost all the resorts at WDW are spread out, DVC or not. I agree with Dean AKV Jambo seems to have been the least spread out of all the resorts I have stayed at (haven't stayed at VWL).

With any resort, it all depends on where your room is located. BCV rooms at the end of the building can be just as far or further away from the quick service/marketplace area's as a lot of rooms at SSR or OKW. Your best bet would be to always request near the quick service area's, etc.

AKV Jambo is all in one building, so it is just an elevator ride and some hallways, no going outside, etc. It would be nice if they came up with a way to add more drink stations without creating an abuse situation.
