Drove by the former Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampe today, surprised to see it's available "For sale or lease." Either Premium Outlets is taking a hit from the economy (seems unlikely given the line I stood in at the Polo store), or there was a bit of corporate disinformation when the place closed.

Dinner theatres and restaurants have always come and gone over the years. I remember King Henry's Feast on International Drive, Asian Adventure, a Wild West Show on 192, and at least one other King Arthur/Medieval theme (you can still see the abandoned castle on 192) and Asian theme in the Kissimmee area. Dolly Partons is just the latest to fail.

Dixie Stampede was not the sort of place to make it in the greater Orlando area. :confused3 Just as well it closed.

I never heard why DS closed, but I was sad to see it go. In our opinion, it was the best dinner show in Orlando, including HDDR.

I recently read a story in the Orlando Business Journal that the outlet owners had decided not to complete their purchase of the Dixie Stampede property.
