I took my granddaughter to Universal Hollywood a couple of years ago, and she has the interactive wand from that time. I heard you can get your wand "repaired" for free at Ollivanders. I figure the end has probably been scratched in the last 2 years and maybe not work as well. Has anyone done this? How long to you have to wait? I heard that there is a place to buy wands in City Walk, could this be done there? We intend to do the wand experience again, as this time her younger cousins are joining, but if we can do this before park day on arrival day that would be great.

I've had my wand "repaired" a number of times (we do multiple trips per year so it gets a lot of use/wear and tear). Usually I just talk with one of the Team Members that is supervising/helping at a wand location. They will look at the wand tip and determine whether it needs to be repaired. All of this is done totally in character. Then they will either take it or send you to the wand shop to have it done. The whole process takes maybe 5 minutes.

I don't know if they can/will do it in City Walk, but it is more magical (pun intended) in the way that they do it in parks. For a child, I would definitely take the time and let them do it in the HP world.
