Wandering out of the World Showcase at closing....

I'm setting up my touring plan, and am tentatively hoping to end up at the Morocco pavilion at about 10:30 and spending 30 minutes or so looking around. (It's an EMH evening...)

Is it common and/or OK to *start* my way back to the entrance from the far end of the World Showcase at 11:00 pm, and take my time to look at the sights and sounds of the World Showcase on my way back? I don't mean actually doing anything, but it'd be nice to be able to plan a leisurely sightseeing saunter as my last act of the night.

Will that work?

Yes, do it! It's awesome. We've stayed at the epcot resorts last 2 times. Ending up doing this several times, not necessarily planned after a late adr, etc... it's so nice to see the countries without the crowds. You can really take it all in.

That is much more common and easy to do after IllumiNations on a regular hours night.
After PM EMH, they tend to close down more quickly.

Any open stores will close at 11PM or very nearly that.

We did this on a regular night. We were over by Norway for Illuminations and after the show we just stayed put until the crowds died off...maybe 1/2 an hour. Then we walked through a COMPLETELY deserted WS to the international gateway. The only people we saw were the occasional security CM who smiled and waved and one set of super enthusiastic CM's sprinting through the place laughing and shouting "have a magical evening!". We did not go "into" any of the countries. We walked the promenade hand in hand to the exit. There would have been nothing to do or see in the countries as they were all shut down.
It was lovely.

I usually spend 20 or so minutes at the American pavilion area before strolling out.

I don't like being in WS at closing. Most things are shutting down and it seems so dark and spooky.

I've done this after a late ADR at Tokyo Dining on a regular hours night. We saw a very few other people, other than security and CMs, who were all nothing but friendly. Nothing was open, but it was nice to look around at everything without people everywhere.

On a solo evening, first evening of week-long trip, I watched Illuminations from Norway. I was tired from early flight and was tempted to just go back to the room.

I summoned up some energy and walked clockwise all around the World Showcase. Loved the post Illuminations music. I was disappointed that by the time I reached Canada the music stopped. Nothing. No music from the speakers at all. I guess that's one way of saying it was time for me to leave the park.
