Finally went to the WWOHP this weekend and I'm curious - when someone gets chosen in the wand shop experience, do they get a discount on the wand that "chooses" them?

No, there are no special discounts for the chosen ones.

:thumbsup2. I'm sure that comes as a surprise to many of the "lucky" ones. ;)

It's probably also a surprise to their parents (if the selected person is a child) that they have to pay full price for a wand that "chose" their child. I would imagine some children get upset if they are selected and then their parents don't want to buy the wand. Or if they've seen all the wands ahead of time, and the one that "chooses" them during the show is not the one they actually wanted . . .
:wizard:

ETA: Question - is it the same style of wand that is the "right" one in every show? Or do they change it up?

No they get switched up. Sometimes during the presentation, the wandkeeper asks the person their birthday, then I'm guessing they make the right wand be the one that matches their birthday, or it could be a randomly chosen one.

I think they change it up. My 17 year old daughter has been wanting us to buy her a wand forever. Well, Saturday DH took her in to see the show and they picked her! I was so happy for her but sad that I missed it since I was at Suess-land with the littlest.

DH happily bought it for her.

BTW, I just asked her. She said "George's" wand is the one that chose her. I guess he is one of the twins. Maybe that's fate since she is a twin herself, lol

Any ideas of the prices of theses wands, just curious, that would make a great gift for someone I know but I guess if its like 50-60$ she can forget it, would be willing to pay around 20$ but I guess since its a popular item, their prices are a lot more higher than that...

$29.95

Saw the same ones on eBay for 9.95 direct from china

Guess I'll grab one from ebay then, a lot cheaper, but 29,95$ is somewhat reasonable priced, was expecting a place like USO and IOA would want to make a lot more cash from theses, but at the same time, they are just a piece of wood or plastic or any other cheap material.
