WALT's WARRIORS (team7) Jan. 09 thread.

Hey Warriors!

I'm fine with posting miles monthly. I'd still like to post about daily runs just to keep me moving. I'll keep track of them. :thumbsup2

So, my last workout was 4 miles on the 27th. It turns out I've spent a little over a year going far but really, really slowly. I'm trying to increase my speed now- soooo hard. I managed to average slightly under 10 minute miles on my 4 mile run. Again, soooo hard. But, I did it and maybe it will get easier!

Did I tell you that my baby is a little over 4 months old and I've finished a 5k, 10k, 15k, and a half since he was born? I have two halves, a 5k, a 10k, and another 15k I want to do in the next two months. I think I'm getting a little out of control... (not that this group is going to stop me- I think we're all just as bad!;) )

3 miles in 38 minutes for me last night. Right leg still giving me fits, so I cut out the 4th mile that I was supposed to do.:sad2: Oh well...I'll add that mile back in somewhere this week.

Tracy...I think I like the "getting it done" better than the "pointing the way" or whatever it used to say. IMHO...but whatever you decide to go with will be great either way! Thanks for all your hard work!:thumbsup2
 
Great to have you here Jeff!

Today I had a horrible 3.5 mile run. So horrible that I am going to try and go to the gym this evening and get in another run on the tm. The issues was the roads...after yesterday's winter blizzard followed by freezing rain, there was 3" of slush on the roads. What a mess. And not fun to run through.

At least I was able to get some miles in. Plus some strength and core for a total of 75 minutes.

Sorry to hear about your roads and slush. Not to rub it in, but I just ran 3 miles at lunch in a t-shirt and shorts. ;) Don't worry, you can laugh at me in a couple of months when I'm whining about the heat!

Jen Wow it's good to stay a step back and see how much you've achieved since having your little sproglet! That is truly amazing.... and we're never going to stop you if you're happy :)

Michelle sorry your calf's giving you trouble. Well done for keepin it up but realising when enough's enough.

Jim i love your 'alternative' training. You know, funnily enough i haven't ever tread water holding a chair over my head. I obviously haven't lived ::yes::

Went for a swim tonight- 0.62miles 30 mins, 20 mins of core work and stretching once home too.

Hi everyone ~ I'm Marcia from CA...I'm signed up for my 4th Goofy in 2010 and a couple of half marathons for the year....

Tracy - What'd you do to your foot? My toe nail finally came off from the Goofy..what a relief! Now I can get back to work and stop babying it

Sounds like I have some work to do if I'm going to be on this team...

Hi everyone, I'm Marcie. I am so excited to be on a team now. I have no idea what to do except post a monthly mileage. I keep up with mine so I'm good there. I've never ran a race, but I am going for the TOT 13k. I can't do a spring disney marathon because of work. :confused3 Maybe they will have another in May again sometime. I plan on starting with a few 5k's and see how it goes. Right now I am averaging about 2 miles 4 times a week and I've been doing the C25k (I'm on week 5).

Nice to meet everyone.
 
OK, so we now have Marcia and Marcie...COOL!!

This is an area where you can keep up with everyone on the team, bit smaller so it's not to overwhelming. The weekly team thread is for everyone!!

Please feel free to post your miles, times what you have done for the day or week. Miles and times will be collected at the end of every month and posted at the front and 1st post of that month. This will start in February.
Any race/walk you have signed up for and complete is double. You get double miles and double times for that. Any outdoor activity can could, like mowing the yard, shoveling, washing/waxing the car. Yoga/pilates/weights are counted for the time.

LOVE getting new teammates! This is wonderful group!

So, I managed to do double-duty today and add anoter 4.5 miles to my daily total (which means 7.5 miles of running today), plus I did some extra stretching as well for another hour (2:15 total for the day).

Just wanted to say good morning to my teamies!!!

Last night I did 2.43 miles in 40 minutes. Actually, that includes a 10 minute warmup walk, I usually do 5 but my knee has been so stiff I wanted to make sure I was really warmed up.

I may not have time to run again until Sunday (will only be skipping 1 run) I'll probably still stretch and do strength training but tonight I might have a date and tomorrow is the black-tie charity event. I get to be Cinderella at the ball. princess:

One question, does the wii fit count towards hours? I plan on buying myself a wii and the fit for my birthday in a few weeks.

WiiFit def counts and WELCOME!!!! That's so cool that we have a marcie and marcia. :cheer2: Can't wait to get to know and cheer for each and every run/walk/exercise time.

I did 5.4miles tonight, outside again. Took a smidge under 50mins, 10 more stretch and then 10 core mins later on. Looking forward to a massive sleep tonight. Happy weekend warriors. 1 more day til month totals- mine's ready when you want it! :flower3:
 
I think I will put a thread up for us Warriors to introduce ourselves, separate from the monthly threads.

Resting for me. I did a 2mile easy walk yesterday before seeing the Podiatrist. 30 min. I will do a 4 tomorrow and probably an 8 on Sunday. Trying to get back in the swing of things for the Princess Half.

Happy Friday Warriors!!

I WAS going to run today, but ended up spending the ENTIRE day doing some unplanned, unpleasant & real PITA home repairs today. It was definitely NOT on my list of things to do today when I woke up.

And I didn't even come CLOSE to finishing. Ugh. Sooooooooooooooooo, I have done no training in the last 2 days. I'll hopefully lift & do some core work at the station tomorrow & run or bike on Sunday. Or maybe both! :)

Keep at it folks! You guys ROCK!!

I thought of you tonight while on the treadmill, Tracy. The gym was way too hot :crazy2: and the pinky pistols came out! First time in '09!:thumbsup2 :lmao: How's the toenail?

Sorry life got in the way, Jim. I hate when that happens!

I hope you are enjoying your rest, Lily. I won't get any this weekend! Have to clean house and shop tomorrow for the big Superbowl party on Sunday. And after a house full on Sunday, I'm sure I'll have to clean all over again!:faint: Any of you Warriors wanna come watch the game???:crowded:
