Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Hi Everyone at "Walt's Warriors" Team7. I was just placed in this group and I already feel part of the team!!:dance3:
Thanks for the welcome Lily!
Let me introduce myself as my screen name suggests I am a HUGE Disney Fan!!I love Disneyworld and go there as often as possible (and money allows).
My Name is Tracy and I'm 38, soon to be 39. I am single and I have a dog named "Mickey". Mickey is 13 and is hanging in there for being 82.!:cheer2:
I love to walk and got into speed/racewalking while training to do my first Half Marathon which would be the WDW Half. I had had problem with my feet for some time with plantar faciitus and then I had surgery on a toe. After the surgery I did some walking as part of therapy. One day I was reading a post on Allearsnet about someone who walked the Half, that sounded good to me and off I went. I enjoy photography and have a website for that, I like arts and crafts type stuff, geneology, The "U" Miami Hurricanes, anything Irish, Disney, Mickey Mouse, #9 Kasey Kahne, and of course WALKING and being part of the WW's!!
If you're not sure where Pembroke Pines, FL is.. Look at a map of FL and find Fort Lauderdale, go alittle bit south to Hollywood then west until you run into Pembroke Pines!!:)

Lily, can I give you all my times/miles from the point you all started? I have it because I use a Garmin when doing my training.

Thanks and hope to be a great part of this team!!

Erika - When you get to the time where you need to put the long runs/walks in, you will make the time. It won't be easy, but, by the time you get there, you will have put in so much work to get there, that you'll find a way. It'll be worth it too!!! (First year, dh adn I booked a trip to GA on Wed, so we could do 20 miles on Saturday. We had no TM and the roads were so bad that we flubbed our 18) lol., you just find a way.

It was bitter cold here in Maine at 6am, which was the only time I had today...so out I went. Fortunately, it was my short day. I managed 2.5 in 30 minutes....there was a VERY strong head wind and boy did that slow me down. With the wind chill, it was about 0! :scared1: So...sorry team for the low miles today, but my victory is that I got out there! Normally I take weather like that as an excuse not to get my workout in!

OK, Here are my totals from the day I joined (2 days) including today Sunday March 2nd.
Miles 9
Time 2hr:13min:39sec.

Take care, Tracy

Welcome Tracy!!!

Hey there Team!!! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I didn't get anything in on Thursday/Friday/Saturday.

Yesterday, I did get in 4 miles, 62 minutes.

Stacie

Hi Team! Quick drive by for me - February is over, and I'm glad! Between some personal things happening, our home computer crashing, all the sickness and relapses - I'm done with that month! :goodvibes

I'm going to go back and try to catch up - but wanted to quickly report that I did 40 minutes last night- pilates video! Yippee, I know it's only one night, but I said Sunday was the (re)start that I need, and I'm not stopping now! :yay: :yay:

Have a great Monday everyone! Congrats on all of your accomplishments, and happy training!

Hi all--I have an addition to my Sunday post...

Late in the day I got a long walk in...3.5 miles in 60 minutes.

And today I did 4.3 miles...running time plus weight training time = 65 minutes for the day!

Happy Monday! :goodvibes

Welcome Tracy! Great to have a new teammate!

Hey congratulations tracy- i can see you're going to be another true warrier to add to our blossoming team!

Stacey- good luck with your restart- what a fab start you've had to march.

Stacie- 4 miles is fantastic! Are you getting the running buzz now? It's scary when you realise you're grumpy because you haven't been for a run

Carrie- i'm not surprised you're happy with 8 miles, that's a stomping run (i've just done it too which is why i'm playing it up!) in a great time. Also thank you for doing such a great job keeping track of all of us- i know we're a handful :rotfl:

Roxy and Jim- you're both such an inspiration to us all with another great effort.

3DisneyKids- how amazing are you getting back out there after such a difficult first outing.

Ken- still weak? 12 miles?!?!?! Good grief, you're impressive but please be careful.

Barb (yay i learned your name!) well done to you for 6 miles!

For me today- 8.1 miles run 89minutes, warm up and cool down of 0.5miles so total 8.6miles and 97mins. I think this is assignment avoidance- i have a week to finish a 5000 word essay and it's making my head hurt!!!!

Great run Kate! lol. Nice pace. :p Seriously, that's a long way and just finishing is good. My competitive (with myself) nature is finally coming back after a year of setbacks.

Tracy - DOn't mean to be a pain, but can you tell me what was before Friday adn what was after, Our weeks end on Friday. Not usually a bi deal, but with that beign end of month.... Thanks!!!

1 hour with trainer strenght training. Now I would like to dedicate my 3 mile hill work run to Lily today. It took 30 minutes. Today was the start of my training for a half marathon called hospital hill run in june in kansas city. It is suppose to be hilly. Where I run here it is flat so I took to the treadmill hit the hill button and i was off. It actually took me a few times to get use to that crazy treadmill going up and down on its own. I felt like I was running on space mountain.:rotfl: Ok!!! Maybe that is a little dramatic but I was a little wobbly the first couple go arounds. Anyway sorry it took so long Lilly hope you are feeling better. Best Regards Roxanne

Hello Team!

A bright, sunny, WINDY day here in beautiful St Augustine.

Some cross training today:

Bike - 22.65 miles in 1:24.

Have I mentioned how much I HATE biking in really windy conditions?? If not, please take a note here..................

Running - 3.75 miles in 37:00

Total: 26.4 in 2:00:01.

Today was a nice refresher in the fueling/hydrating chapter of Jim's "What not to do" book. I ate a small breakfast this morning, then did not fuel up at all during my bike ride. Kept fairly well hydrated, but nothing else. About mile 2.5 on my run, my legs looked up at me (figuratively of course) and said "That's it buddy. We Are Through For This Time. The tank is empty & YOU are a dumba**"

I managed to slog my way back to home plate, but not much else.

Lesson learned, message received.

Ok, last week is my last bad week!!! 1 hour, 4 miles. Spring will soon be upon us. Let's all (at least those of us in the north) say goodbye to the winter blues.

Today I did 3.19 miles in 55 minutes, with warm up & cool down. This is my first entry for the week.

3 miles 51 minutes for me today.

Carrie, the Country Music 1/2 is April 26, yikes!!!!!!

:sad2: Sorry Carrie... My miles before Sat.
5.11 and time was 1 hour 12 min.
I Hope I got that right, then I will report Sat-Fri on Fri. Thanks
