I know it's very corny but The Waltons homecoming is must see every year.
I think I'm the only one that likes it! Everyone at home shakes their head when they see me watch it every Christmas!

I love The Walton's and also watch it every year! I just got the First season of The Walton's on DVD! :goodvibes :goodvibes

My sister and I were just talking about The Homecoming yesterday. It's a must see for her. I like it but I don't go out of my way to make sure I see it.

IMO the Little House Christmas episodes are better.

Was the Waltons episode int he first season? If so I'll be able to watch it again. The IL's are getting season one on DVD for Christmas as one of their gifts.

I believe the Homecoming was basically the pilot for the series. It had different actors for dad, mom, grandpa. Nice story and good watching although I think Patricia Neal's acting was a little over the top in spots. The "bringing whiskey into the house" scene reminds me of Faye Dunaway's "no wire hangers, ever!" scene. Sorry. I know some people really love this special. I don't know if they include it on the Waltons DVD. I would think not.

The Homecoming was the movie the TV show came from. You have to buy the movie seperatly.

I love the Walton's! Watched it growing up and many time in repeats. I saw the DVD and would like to get it so my daughter can grow up with some wholesome TV.

I love it.
What are we going to live on? Love, woman, Love?
The no whiskey in the house is very old time southern baptist.

I was pretty young when that came out, but I still remember thinking that the mother wasn't a very nice mother (kinda scary and mean), at least compared to the actress on the regular series.

John Boy? JOHN BOY!

I love that movie and I hadn't seen it in years. A co-worker took pity on me last Christmas and let me watch it. I think I need to see if he'll let me borrow it again.

I remember being traumatized as a kid when Elizabeth got that broken doll.

That show always sparked some great discussions with my parents when I was growing up. They both grew up during the Depression and it kind of gave me a glimpse of what their lives were like.

I have the DVD and watch it at least once, if not twice, during the holidays.
I just watched it a couple days ago, so since I watched it early I'll probably make time to watch it again the week after Christmas. It's definitaly one of my very favorite Christmas movies. I also love to listen to my old "Waltons Christmas" album on the record player when I'm working in the kitchen, and the new Christmas CD they came out with a couple years ago.

Is that the one where Mary Ellen knows all of the Bible verses?

I love her, she was always my favorite Walton.

I always loved the Waltons. Watched it a lot. I also enjoy their Christmas show. That was such a wholesome program.

I bought the DVD last year. There is nothing wrong with a a feel good movie at Christmas time.
