Walt Disney World Ticket Price Increase Coming;

Does anyone know exactly when they will be raised in Feb? Is it usually announced first or do they just do it?
Some third-party vendors seem to have some remaining stock that they still sell at the old price. Unless you're buying directly from Disney, you should have a couple days notice where you can still buy at the old price.

any idea when the prices will increase? I'm going 2/25 and haven't purchased tickets yet. I really can't buy them until 2/6... hoping they hold off the increase for a few more days.

An important benefit to Disney from eliminating non-expiration is not having to keep all of the tickets on the books (in the data base) from now to eternity.

In the old days, tickets were human readable, were physically marked with usage history, and did not require a data base. They were also limited to five days or so because there wasn't that much room on the paper ticket to print all of the usage history. Other tickets were in the form of detachable coupons which were collected upon usage.

No one knows exactly when really it's a guessing game.

Whew - I hope they control themselves until Friday because I can't buy mine until then. Payday .... :-)

The person that I talked to at the Official Ticket Center told me that they will continue selling the No Expiration option even if Disney stops selling them (???)

Pretty sure that's not possible. Those front line CMs you talk to on the phone don't know a lot about what is coming and what isn't they hear the same things we do.

OfficialTicketCenter is a 3rd party retailer. I'm pretty sure what they meant to say was they "will continue selling the No Expiration options (until they sell out of their stock in those passes) even if Disney stops selling them." Undercover tourist does the same.

I wonder how long it will take WDW to make all passes expire within 12 months after you purchase them? That's the way it works at Disneyland.

Oh so true. I have already thought about this too. Right now we have 4-day base tickets in my account. I know if something were to happen and I needed to cancel my room only reservation I can do so with out penalty 5 days before, but my tickets will be just fine for whenever. If this were to occur that would limit my time in which to use them. The greed of this company is getting worse by the day.

shhhhhhhh don't let them hear you lol

we still have days left over on sets of tix I bought in spring of '07 before that year's big bump in the non-expiry option. my DH said I was crazy. well, maybe...but it was money in the bank if you consider the subsequent price increases. we have used them sporadically over the years when we needed another day pre cruises or other fl focused vacations.

you can link several sets of tix to your MDE and typically be able to reassign them to others if unused.

only issue we ran into has been last October when the system automatically deducted days from the tix with the smallest number of days left upon them. We made sure to have GS in the park address it before we left.

many DVC members are waiting WDW out before buying APs, hoping for another special. it will be interesting to see how it plays out and if the price increase will hit first.

Now that would make complete sense

It's only the 5th of February, but the prices haven't gone up yet!
It's a bummer that they will increase though. I want to travel to DisneyWorld in December and buying tickets now isn't feasible (hence also planning for next winter). Hopefully a few sites like Official Ticket Center can cut me a deal when I am ready to buy!

We usually go to the Orlando area about twice a year. we will sometimes venture over to Epcot or AK for part of the day. We purchased 10 day non expiring park hopper tickets some time ago.. we still have a day or two left.. so it was really more knowing we will be going at some time, and buying tomorrows tickets at todays prices... I will buy more of those tickets before they go away.. It may not be cheap to do it right now, but in three years when I don't have to buy tickets at the price posted then, it will have been a great decision....

This is an excellent point. Pay day is around the corner, so I'll talk to the family and hopefully they will see the benefit of sooner than later. Thank you. :)

I am trying to buy tickets now and the website won't let me!

We have several water parks left on tickets from several years ago, assume they will 'have' to keep those on the books!!! Depending on what time of year we go and how often, sometimes there is a few years between usage.
