If I'm not interested in the actual balcony, is there a reason to pay the extra for a Deluxe Resort View room? ie, is there anything better about the room, or the view, compared to the "regular" Resort View rooms?

We also booked for the first time at the Dolphin, going in May!! We have been to Disney 25+years and have stayed at all of the Disney resort, except for the G.F. It was to girly for our boys. but what a beautiful resort. Well Disney is forcing us with their high prices to go elsewhere. We love the Epcot area and thought why not... lets stay at the Dolphin and Iam sure we will not regret it. And we also have a great AAA rate too!
We are at Dolphin and the bed is not very comfortable (imo). The mattress says it's a Beautyrest made exclusively for Sheraton hotels. Is that what the famed Heavenly bed is supposed to be?

My stats with the Heavenly have been quite heavenly. If you are staying much longer, more than a day or two, maybe ask housekeeping to swap out a new mattress.

We are here just 2 more nights. I asked at the front desk if all the beds in the rooms were the same and she said yes and didn't offer any other solutions

The website says the Heavenly beds are available at all 3 resorts (Swan, Swan Reserve, Dolphin) under the accommodations tab...https://swandolphin.com/accommodations/traditional-room/
For those of you who have stayed at the Swan or Dolphin recently, what's been a typical time you could get access to your room on the first day? My sister is debating staying there, but ideally needs access to the room by 2pm on the first day. I know there are no guarantees, but wondering if it's not typical to get access to your room that early. It would be a Thursday in March.
First time staying at the Dolphin, 3/8 - 3/11, first trip without kids! We will be moving to a different hotel for a softball tournament on 3/11 - checkout is at 11 but check-in at the new hotel is at 4. Will we be able to stay at the pool area and possibly do laundry after checking out?
