Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

As a new person to the Swan and a standard room does it make a difference on location to request or anything? I do have to work from Florida on one day of my trip so I hope WIFI is dependable.
The standard rooms are available on floors 2-12 with most overlooking the front of the hotel. No sure what your requests might be but options like lower floor/ upper floor, close the the Elevators (East Wing or West Wing) all apply to standard rooms.

We have never had an issue with Wi-Fi at the Swan. As with most Disney area resorts the Wi-Fi is most busy in the evening after the parks close and first thing in the morning as guests are getting ready to head out to the parks for the day.

As always, I am super grateful for all the Disboard information!

I recently won a 3 night stay at CBR (Dec 2-5). My husband is a Marriott employee and they have great discounts during Nov/Dec so we are planning our crazy trip!

We have 4 kids (19,17, 4, 9 mo), but this trip we are just bringing the 2 little ones (college & sr in high school). I am sad to leave them behind, but super excited to do this trip.

Anyways- we will be driving to Orlando after a 3 day stay in Myrtle Beach to visit my husband's family for Thanksgiving.

Dec 1- Drive to Orlando, Stay at the Dolphin
Dec 2- Magic Kingdom, move to Caribbean Beach Resort
Dec 3- Hollywood Studios
Dec 4- Epcot
Dec 5- Animal Kingdom, move to Swan
Dec 6- free day
Dec 7- Check out of Swan and head home

While I hate the hotel bouncing, it's our only choice, so I am *super* excited to stay at 3 hotels I never have before!

Anyways- thanks for the tips and tricks for S/D! I will keep following for more info!

There's a weird twist to my modified reservation story from this morning. I opened the app to check and make sure it showed the change to the upgraded room at Dolphin. It showed the change under the original confirmation number, but also showed a completely separate reservation for 1 standard room under a separate confirmation number. Called the in house res line and she said she could not find the second reservation at all in her system. She told me not to worry about it that it was probably just a glitch with the app and the extra room would drop off.

When I hung up, I just didn't feel comfortable with that answer so I logged in online and sure enough the second res was there so I called the main Marriott res line and they saw the second res right away. I explained that I did not book that room and did not want the room. She said when she pulled it up, it did not show my name but did have my rewards acct number and my email. She was very puzzled as to how it happened but was able to quickly remove it. I'm glad I double checked with the Marriott res line because I would've been charged a second room!

By “coffee shop” - do you mean the Java Bar at
the Swan?

Regarding the breakfast vouchers - could you use multiple vouchers per person for breakfast at Garden Grove, or are you limited to using one per person each day?
Yes, Java is what I was referring to. We have one voucher per day that deducts $20.

I did a search, but did not see a definitive answer. With the limited capacity on buses and lots of people trying to hit rope drop, are the buses filling up at Swan in the morning before they get to Dolphin?

I've had no issues with the Wifi, and I generally need to do work things while I'm there at night. I can't remember for sure, but I seem to recall they had an Ethernet cable that you could plug into as well. Maybe someone else can confirm that.
I had no problems during our Feb (Pre-Covid)
Iam allergic to goose down would they be able to swap it out for me?
Yes, but add it to your reservation so they can address it before you arrive. I'd give them a call direct, 407.934.4000.

Sorry if this has been answered. How many times in 7 days can we expect housekeeping. What exactly is the resort fee getting us at this time besides WiFi? Thanks so much

@Leigh123 others can confirm but you should get after your 4th day. If you need fresh towels or other items you can request those.

Honestly any resort fee is a bone of contention for me. But basically you get nothing, well maybe WiFi and water, IMHO those and any other amenities should just be part of our normal nightly fees.

Is the pool open with any restrictions? Is there a hot tub? What time do they close?

I just called Guest Services and they said there are separate buses currently for Swan and Dolphin. I hope that info is correct because with limited capacity, shared resort buses would be a nightmare.

@Rich M glad to help, hard to keep track of everything. Prior to COVID-19 that app was ok, but not nearly as helpful as it is now.

Can anyone tell me if I can use a Marriott gift card at any of the restaurants at The Swan or Dolphin?

Has anyone taken there luggage over to a Disney hotel for airline check in? I have never been asked for my room key or anything when I have checked my luggage before.

RAC is currently not being offered at any Disney resort and appears as though the change may be permanent, per CM info.

The company that provided the service, Bags, Inc., just initiated sizable layoffs.

All of the RAC counters at Disney resorts have been removed, as well as all signage painted over.

The language on Disney’s site recently changed. Previously, the verbiage indicated that the service was currently not being offered. It now states:

Disney’s Magical Express service will no longer be providing luggage delivery for those arriving to and departing from Orlando International Airport. Resort airline check-in service is also no longer available.
