Do you know if the west and east wings have their own elevators that then bring you to the main entrance/exit you mentioned?
The East & West wings each have 4 guest elevators in a central elevator lobby. The elevators were refurbished in 2019 and are quite quick.

The design of the Elevator lobbies keep them hidden from the main lobby. You go toward the Swan fountain and turn right (east wing) or left (west wing).

You can take either group of elevators at the wings are "L" shaped and share the long edge of the "L" so you can walk from one bank of elevators to the other. The West wing is about 60 seconds closer to the pools and the walkway to the Dolphin, Friendship boats and the walkway to Epcot / DHS.

Or if they have separate exits that would make it beneficial to request to be near the pool? If so, I guess the room location wouldn’t really matter. I think I read somewhere that the east wing rooms have a nice view of Epcot.
If you use Dan’s world famous concierge link, a real human reads your room requests and often responds to let you know they got them. I’m sure he will post it but if you search his username and concierge the link will come up. I find it easier at Swan and Dolphin to just explain what I want, rather than picking a room like on touring plans. You could write, for example, “we are celebrating our ______ and would love a great view. It’s most important to us to be on a low floor near an elevator. If possible we would like to be near the pools.” I have even gone so far as to ask to be near my mom but not connecting 😂 We have had great luck with those requests!

Thanks chica! I will search for Dan’s link, that sounds perfect! And we are actually celebrating our 15th anniversary, so I’ll throw that in there too 😊
 
I had one that was expiring this past March, and called Bonvoy to extend it. I got an extra year, then got my new award so have two to use until next year now.
These are actually extensions of rooms that were supposed to expire in July or September of this year, but they were extended automatically to January 2021. Do you think if I call them I could get it extended into the summer of 2021?
I feel like I’ve been on the phone so much lately, I’m looking to avoid calling customer service lines as much as I can :)

You qualify for the Disney Resort Guest category so long as your reservation is linked in MDE prior to making the park reservations.

Thank you! Do you know if we'd have the option of buying magic bands at the reduced rate? We stayed at Swan last Feb and had magic bands, but realized after our trip that we didn't get ride photos.

Unfortunately not - the ordering screen that would allow the discounted Magic Bands is only available with a true onsite resort reservation. Not that it's much consolation but the options for the "reduced price" Magic Bands are fairly limited for resort guests and there look to be some unique options on ShopDisney that you can't get as the "upgrade", including lots of colors of solid magic bands for $15.
 
Just started looking at the Swan but no restaurants are available. We are looking for the last week in October. Looking for information about the "standard" rooms, restaurants and on site parking.

Are you trying to make a reservation for October at one of the Swan restaurants? I am pretty sure they use Open Table or for reservations call direct each page of the restaurant has a reservation phone number listed on the S&D Restaurant page.

What questions do you have about the Standard rooms?
Your daily parking fee of $27/day plus tax lets you park at S/D and Disney parks or you can use the Valet parking $35+tax
Don't forget there is a resort fee too, $30+ tax.
 
Thank you SteveH. I found parking is $25 a day...WOW it's been a few years since we visited. I had no idea they are charging now. I changed my date to tomorrow and the restaurants are still unavailable. I have always wanted to stay here and the price seems to be pretty low compared to other deluxe resorts .
