Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

We were booking from Dec 18th to the 23rd. The website has the traditional room at $309 a night and the rate I got was $288.

We have since cancelled the reservation because I got a bounceback offer at the Beach Club for about the same price.

Hope this helps.

::yes:: Yes, do this! My rate dropped several times for my last stay, including three weeks prior to our arrival date! It costs nothing but a little time to check rates but can save $$.

Yes,reservationist at the Swan said to call back in a few weeks but make reservations now and discount will be applied.

I called the Swan this a.m. and made my reservations! Teacher rate will be applied!!!!
Wicked happy!!!!!!!

That's good to know. What did they ask for as far as retired teacher documentation? I'm a nurse and use my license, but I have some retired teacher friends who have been interested and they're always wondering what they should use. School district pension pay stub?

Hello, sorry if this is posted somewhere, but unsuccessful in finding it anywhere. We are in process of booking family trip to WDW for the end of August 2015. We have stayed at Dolphin before and would love to book there again, but concerned with the renovations at that time.

I can only find the press release stating that Dolphin is scheduled to begin renovations in 2015 and end at end of 2016.

Anyone have details on what it may be like in the August time frame, not worth the money if half the hotel is underconstruction, etc.

Thanks!

Welcome to the dis, frank, and the S/D thread.

Typically, when they are doing refurbs, they will only do one floor in a wing at a time, no where near half the hotel. For the most part, guests are not even aware of renovations going on. Enjoy the trip.

Glad to hear they are renovating the Dolphin. We had to stay there last year for 1 night and was severely disappointed. It was really nice looking on the outside and lobby but the room was equivalent to that of a run down motel. Maybe we will give this a shot in the future once the renovations are completed.

Am i right that it's $19 a night to park a car? I wanted to get a rental, but am starting to change my mind since it would add another $140 for the week,...

I booked our April stay at the Dolphin back in July. Yesterday I checked the website and the rate had dropped about $60/day, so I called and with no problem at all got the new rate applied! Always worth checking up as you get closer to your trip, we just saved about $400!

I was able to get the teacher rate for the Swan for the weekend/week after Thanksgiving. The agent said it basically looks like a straight 15% off the best available rate consistently this year. I didn't know if that is standard or not from previous years? It is pricing an average of $293/night with teacher rate applied right now. Yikes! Hoping that drops considerably or we may be doing a split stay somewhere else on property after using our points for the 7 days prior at the Swan.

Yup,just an old pay stub!

We booked 6 nights thru Orbitz at Disney Beach Club. However, a friend offered to book us at the Swan with his Starwood points. Thus, we are saving around $1600 even after transportation costs. I'd like to know how to link the new Swan reservation to my MDE account (already have ADR's booked). Will the Starwood reservation number work or do I need some other number?

Your reservation number is all you need. I was able to link mine with it. Although it did say to allow 24 hrs for it to show up on MDE.

We are staying for 15 nights in the Swan in April 2015. We have magic bands from our stay in the Grand Floridian last year which are still active in MDE. We have purchased our park tickets for April and linked in MDE. Will last years MBs now work at the turnstiles and for FP+ ride entry or do I need to do anything else?

Thank you....

Yes, bands from previous trips work just fine.

Hi,
I am new to this board and we are booking a trip for the end of next month. My husband has a work thing at the Swan but they are full. We are looking at the boardwalk because it looks to be the next closest hotel. Is there an easy way for him to walk from the Dolphin/Swan to the Boardwalk each day?

He sure can and rather easily at that! It is a short walk between Swan and Boardwalk and only a bit farther to Yacht Club with Beach Club being the farthest (and that isn't all that far). :thumbsup2
