Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

I *think* they have room service?
No MDE app checkin with Swan/Dolphin. Just drop by the front desk and ask if your room is available. It will likely not be.
Yes, you can park well before checking in. We do the same thing.
Enjoy your trip!
I'll add for early check in - if you have an account with BonVoy and this stay is on that account, you will get an email a few days before your trip telling you that you can check in. When I book my trip (through BonVoy) I always put early check in in my preferences and before 1:00. You do have to go to the front desk when you arrive but most of the time, I've found my room is ready when I put early check in and when I check in through the app. This is not always the case but I think there has been only one time in maybe 10 stays that my room wasn't ready by 2 pm and one time it was actually ready at 8 am. I was there a couple of weeks ago and got there around 1:30 and my room was ready. I always just book a standard view room and I'll admit this time the view was by far the worst view you can get at Dolphin but that is the first time that has happened. I don't care about the view unless I've paid for a balcony so it was no big deal.

Glad you mentioned this. We just stayed at the Swan this past Friday, 4/23, (first time since I was a little kid) and we arrived from Jax at 10:30am and during our drive over, I got an alert from the Marriott Bonvoy app that our room was ready. I have to say, the resort was not sold out but it was fairly full. We had a standard two queen room and it was wonderful. No issues and having our room ready before we headed to the parks was so nice. The staff was very friendly and the quick walk to Epcot was so nice. We only stayed one night so not a lot of time spent at the resort but we loved it. Looking forward to our next stay.

Does anyone know how and when to put in a room request?
From all the information I've gotten here I pretty know exactly where I'd like to be and want to ask for it.

Thanks!

Any suggestions on areas to request? My wife and I have never stayed at the Swan and am curious what is considered the best area. If it makes any difference, we have a Resort view King balcony reserved. Thanks!

That's what I have booked and I want to be in the East wing facing the Boardwalk

Does adding your reservation to the Bonvoy app take it out of MDE or this just MDE being MDE? 🙄

The reservation was in MDE and had been for over a month, then noticed today it was gone. Last week I added it to the Bonvoy app but don't see how those two would be related.

Anyway, I went to add it back to MDE and it only had 3 guests instead of 4 again (I had to call to get my youngest added originally).

Are they officially doing that resort guests get in 30 minutes early yet?

Is there any reason to fool with calling the Swan again and getting our 4th person added so we are all set in MDE?

We are less than 30 days out and have all the reservations set.

When I try to book the 2 queen bed room via the Bonvoy app it is adding an extra person fee of $250 to the reservation (2 adults and 2 kids age 5 and 8). If I look at the Marriott website it does not add the fee, but I do not get the member rate. Anyone have recent experience having them remove the extra fee after booking or would I be stuck with it?

On the Marriott website you enter corporte/promo code box QWH. You'll be able to book AP rate.

Yes!!!! This exact thing is happening to me! Linked successfully to MDE for weeks then randomly deleting out of MDE and deleting guests! I asked this earlier to see others experiences. Its bizarre!

I had the same issue. Upon checkout, the extra person fee was not there! It shows on the app but not on the final bill.. Hope this helps!!

Is there any advantage to linking your resort to MDE if you have already made your park passes?

In my last stay, November 2019, the Bonvoy app showed that I had 2 extra people even though my kids were under 10. I went to the front desk, and they said there was no such charge on their end. I even tried going to a different front desk person a different day because I didn’t trust them, but they were both right. There was no charge at the end for extra people. It appears it’s just a glitch through Marriott’s app/site.

Yea the whole bonvoy app/MDE doesn’t play well but I found no reason to have my swan reservation in MDE anyway. After the second time of adding my conf number back into MDE it stuck. I saw no real benefit to having the swan reservation in MDE anyway since there are no real on site stay benefits right now. I used then bonvoy app to check in and that’s what alerted me of my room being ready early.

By member rate do you mean Bonvoy or something else? If Bonvoy, make sure you are logged into the website.

This bug just won't go away! This has been an ongoing issue for Marriott/Bonvoy since the merger with SPG. Your kids won't be charged. After you book you can call S/D direct to confirm they will remove the charge. Or call direct and ask for in-house reservations and they should be able to take care of you too.

Staying at the Swan for the first time in three weeks!

Does anyone know the likelihood of getting a table at The Fountain or Kimonos for a party of 10 with no reservation? As far as I can tell, The Fountain doesn't take reservations and I'm not sure I want to lock in one for Kimonos.

Also, if we get ice cream take out from The Fountain, is there any place nearby to sit down with masks off to eat it?
