Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Dan great to see you again my friend! About the Contemporary Resort issue, at least from what I've read here and other sites it seems a bit 'iffy' as to them letting you off at CR. I say iffy as there hasn't been much official and the 1st hand comments are tough to judge fact vs opinion. Though in the past people would Uber/Lyft to Bay Lake Tower to get dropped off. But without and ADR its been reported not only at CR but others they won't let you in. But go figure you can take the bus without an ADR.

FWIW, when we've traveled to other resorts, we've been stopped at each one and had to prove we had an ADR if we were not staying there. There wasn't one resort that did not do this in our two trips since reopening.

FYI - I’m arriving at the Swan in a few days, and my reservation disappeared from MDE this afternoon. I called the Swan, and they said I would need to call back tomorrow. So I figured I would try to link it back with my Marriott confirmation number, and it worked! So keep a watch on your Swan/Dolphin reservation. I have never had that happen before.

Finally pulled the trigger and switched my Oct 11-18 res from POP/CBR to Swan. Not only did I save money, but I am getting a bigger and nicer room plus walking option to 2 parks. I am excited to try out this resort!
Good choice! We always used to stay at Art of Animation, but now we’re so spoiled! Can’t imagine staying anywhere else 😊

Dining question... sort of

We've only stayed directly on property in the past and I know that if you want to order pizza or uber eats from an off site restaurant, Disney doesn't allow you to have that food delivered to your room.

So, what's the deal with the Swan?

Can I get pizza and other dining delivered directly to my room? Or is it just like the rest of the Disney Resorts where you have to pick that up in the lobby and bring it to your room?

I am 9 days away from check-in and the rates have dropped. I am still within my no penalty cancel phase. If I call, will they adjust the rate or should I cancel and rebook? Also, is it likely the prices will drop again next week (there seems to be plenty of availability so I'm thinking about waiting until the last minute to rebook)?

You can call and they'll adjust your rate. I've done it twice for my upcoming visit. :)

You need the number of adults & children properly listed on your Marriott reservation before it is linked to Disney. The actual names of additional adults or children are not required on your Marriott reservation just the correct numbers.

Since the Marriott web site keeps screwing this up, I would suggest you call the Swan directly at 407-934-4000 on Tuesday since tomorrow is a holiday. In-house reservations can update your information, correct the charges and send an update to Disney that you can verify in MDE.

When I called to get the rate adjusted to the current rate, I added the kids. When they sent the confirmation, the total was much higher than even my original rate. I called back and learned they charged me an extra $350 for the kids because there is a fee for 3rd and 4th person. I told them to take the kids off the res because I thought kids were free. If I've already linked the res in MDE. Do I still need to add the kids?

You can also just change it online using the Bonvoy app. My rates keep dropping and I just keep adjusting with app 😊

How are you adjusting it with the app? I can see my reservations on there, but I only see change dates or cancel as options

You'll have to relink your reservation in MDE (it drops off when changes are made - or at least mine always has) but if you already have park passes for the kids I don't think you need to bother adding them.

For security reasons my gut say you need to meet them in the parking turn around area or the lobby. They really don't want random people roaming through the hotels even without Covid going on. If you want you can give them a call 407.934.4000.

Staying at the the Swan now! So far so good. Got an upgrade to a suite. Had a delicious dinner at Il Mulino. No elevator issues. Only ones on the bus to Animal Kingdom at 6:45 this morning.
Congrats on the upgrade! Out of curiosity, what type of room did you book?
