Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Happy to say that Ds3 and gf will be at the Dolphin June 27-30.
Do they sell cases of water in the gift shop?

Hi, I’d like to know if I made dining dining reservations at Swan/Dolpin, if they will charge me to park while eating. I seem to get mixed answers from various websites. Some stating my parking can be validated while others are stating I will be charged for parking. Anyone have insight on dining and parking?

Yes, at least for the signature restaurants like Shula's, BlueZoo, or Il Mulino. At the bottoms of the page you should see this;
Complimentary valet and self-parking spots are available.
Call 407-934-1199 or click Reserve Now to make a reservation.
If you don't see that, don't give up. Call first to see if they validate for the restaurant you want. I don't see that Rosa, Amare or Kimonos validate but they might.

First time poster so I hope I’m doing this right.

5yo son/wife/I booked Swan for early September. His first visit to Disney; our first stay at Swan. Excited. But also seeing that loud balcony work right now. I went back a few posts and saw similar work occurred at the Dolphin in the fall (I think).

Any idea how long this work might go? I called and got a wishy washy answer that included advising to call back in August.

Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone. I’m sure this question has been asked a million times. Booked a non-refundable prepay-in- full rate a couple months back for my upcoming stay on 6/29 but I have not been charged anything. Will they charge me the full amount upon check-in?

Hello, i have a question on bathrooms in the swan hotel. What rooms have the walk in shower with sliding doors and what rooms have the tub with curtains? I prefer to have the walk in with sliding door.

My experience has been that the King bed rooms have shower and the double queens have tubs, but haven’t stayed in a queen room in quite some time. Best bet is to call Swan directly.

We’re at the reserve, so I’m not 100% sure if it’s the same. But I believe if you book a accessible bathroom it’s a shower with a door.

Stayed at the Swan reserve last Sunday until yesterday. They upgraded our 2 queen bed standard room to a Epcot view which was a nice bonus. The hotel is very nice, the staff is incredible, daily room service was on point. We either walked or took the boat to Epcot/HS. For MK/AK/DS we used either the Beach club or Boardwalk buses. Wait time was very minimal.

Had dinner at Amare’s. Ordered the lamb meatball app, had the sea bass as my entry, daughter had the chicken. Drank their signature old fashioned. Entire meal was great and getting a reservation was easy.

Bar and bartender(s) were great and very friendly and funny.

Never ventured to the swan/dolphin pool, the reserve pool is adequate for what I needed after a long day at the parks. We usually do 1 full pool/Disney springs day but we met friends at Universal for 2 days so that was nixed.

They’re currently testing fireworks at Epcot on random nights from 11pm to 1am. Friday night at 1130pm we got a 20 minute fireworks display which was better than the one we watched earlier at 9.

Grounds the coffee spot was really subpar. We gave it two tries but the coffee and bfast sandwiches weren’t good. Hash browns were half decent. Wound up getting either Joffrey’s or Starbucks in the parks.

I'm looking at booking with the passholder discount for Labor Day weekend and I've never used it before so I'm a bit confused on the language re: the hold they put on your card. It's saying one night deposit is required for the rate but then pre-authorization is made for the whole amount?

I’m no longer an AP but did receive a discount another way. Once I booked they charged me for one night at full rate a few days later. Once I checked in at the front desk (had to show them an ID to receive said discount), they then charged me for the room. After check out I received a total bill for a few things I charged to my room.

My experience with this has been inconsistent. For my most recent reservation, a one-night deposit was charged to my card a few days after booking. For previous stays, no deposit was charged. The balance has always been authorized/charged the day of check-in, but not before.

Weird...guess I will try and see. Just a quick solo trip, didn't see king rooms on offer that weekend at either half with the discount so I'm probably going with Swan for the queens. Will be my first time there, I've only ever stayed at the Dolphin.

I’m quoting myself but can anyone verify if you can buy a case of water in the Dolphin gift shop.
TIA
I never saw cases of water for sale at the store at the Dolphin, only single bottles. If you need them and don't have a car, you can order online and have it delivered. I'm pretty sure they sell cases of water at the boardwalk sundry store, the screen door. I wouldn't want to carry a case of water from there but that's a potential option. Would likely be easier to order online though and likely less $.
