Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Will either swan or dolphin transfer luggage to another Disney resort? Thinking about doing a split stay. Swan or dolphin first and then pop for the last half of our trip.

I just tested this for Swan (next week as rate wasn't available tonight and also early August) and Swan Reserve (tonight) and the discount was 20 percent for both. It says it is available for a limited time only so I would think it is supposed to be in effect now.
It does say up to 30%. Maybe other dates?

Anyone going to be at the Swan Reserve on 7/6 who want some items we’re leaving behind? There’s some unused ponchos, Red Bull, Diet Dr Pepper, unopened granola… I’m not 100% sure what else. All free. We would just need to transfer it to you before we check out.

We *might* have a twin sized air mattress too. We may try and pack it home but if we don’t have space we will leave it behind.

Hello. We are checking into the Swan on 7/12 and I was hoping you all could answer a couple questions for me. Does anyone know if a gallon jug (like a milk jug) will fit in the in room refrigerator? If so, will there be any room left for anything else, like cans of soda? Also, is housekeeping doing daily room cleaning like pre-COVID or is it modified? Thank you for any info you can give me.

We are at the reserve so I’m not sure if the fridges are the same, but a gallon jug would definitely NOT fit in the fridge. It’s very small and pretty finicky. We do have daily housekeeping if requested. They asked us at check in if we wanted it daily.

I think it’s that the flexible rate page doesn’t include the $40/night resort fee or any taxes.

If I click on a $209 night, at the bottom it changes to $280 and says taxes and fees included.

Going to next screen, choosing a resort view room bumps to $309 (with include taxes and fees button selected on that page).

Hope that helps.

Right you are. They’ve recently modified the rates that appear elsewhere to include the $40/day resort fee EXCEPT on the flexible date option matrix. Hopefully they’ll change that soon too.

@luvpoohandcompany to add-on to what @Mickey & Minnie Mom said, also keep in mind that SDR uses a dynamic pricing system, so as the resorts fill the prices and change very fast and to extremes too.

These show the various rates just for a few nights in July, and how it shows if all fees/taxes or just resort fees are included.

Thank you all for taking the time to answer my question. That makes sense :thumbsup2

Hmm. My dates in Sept are showing QWH at 20% off Swan, just under 20% off for SR & Dolphin. Wish they’d give us the details of the offer like Disney does.
I think part of the problem is that it seems S/D/R don't really have firm rack rates to work from. With market driven dynamic pricing, it's difficult to figure pricing discounts.

I just booked the Dolphin for Labor Day weekend on the AP rate, $248 incl. taxes and fees. Not too shabby at all for a holiday weekend. For a "budget" solo weekend where I'll mostly be in the parks I didn't mind no view or full beds.

And to answer my own question from earlier, they didn't charge my card. It's also fully refundable up to 8/26, interestingly.

Sounds great, @kylenne. Enjoy!

Do any of these have rooms that accommodate 5 (3 adults, 2 children)? They don't show up when a do a search on the Disney site, so I'm assuming no.

@jsjd2000 You can find this inf on this page.

Occupancy

  • Swan - 2 Adults / 2 Children
  • Dolphin - 2 Adults / 3 Children
  • Swan Reserve - 2 Adults / 2 Children
  • Connecting Room Available

I would call S/D direct, 407-934-4000 to see about the Dolphin. They may charge extra fee for an adult, they won't do two roll away beds though I know that's a max of 1. But only Dolphin can accomdate more then 4 as per square. footage and fire rules.

That’s awesome! Have a great time!

Can anyone confirm if this is true or a hoax?
Poster on Reddit said they spotted a black bear running on the bridge between Swan and Dolphin and Boardwalk 39 minutes ago.

@luvmarypoppins I tend to take most Disney stories on Reddit with a huge grain of salt. That said it's possible, Disney is located around a whole bunch of wilderness. If a gator could attack a child at Disney, I can see a bear running around too. Anything is possible. But I am sure that Disney will deal with the situation quickly.

Could be, lmp, but I agree with Steve above. Disney will relocate it if it is around.
