Walt Disney World Railroad at MK opening time

Does anyone know if they open up the railroad to ride at park opening? Was hoping to try a different approach to get to BTMR at rope drop (mainly just to save our legs since this will be park day # 4 at that point!)

When are you going?

Beginning in December the train will not be operating while they do some work on the Tron site. It's not expected to open for a long time. Some predictions have been 1.5-2 years. Unknown at this time.

It opens when the park does, but the first train doesn't leave the station for about 10 or 15 minutes. This will not get you to BTTMR very quickly in the morning, though BTTMR's line doesn't build that quickly usually so it'll probably still be a reasonably low wait.

EDIT: and Hopper makes a good point - the RR will be going into an extensive closure in the near future.

Oh that's disappointing about the closure! I will be there in Jan so I guess that's not an option after all.
