I heard that WDW is homeshoring their phone reservations through Arise.com. Has anyone ever done homeshoring? Is it a good way to make some spending money?

Is Arise a scam?

Any help would be appreciated.

I had never heard the term homeshoring. I am not familiar with that company.

Homesourcing also known as homeshoring is "the transfer of service industry employment from offices to home-based employees with appropriate telephone and Internet facilities".[1] Homesourcing is best thought of as a combination of outsourcing and telecommuting.

For what it is worth my DVC Guide works from home.

I have a friend that used to do Disney Dining from home via Arise. He is still with Arise, but doing another company because he was frustrated with Disney Dining's policies.

You should look into it Justin. I think you'd be fabulous at it. I once had a corporate telecommuting jobs and loved it!

I looked at their website and they had some kind of ad for a "customer service class" you have to pay for. I don't know what that is about. Never heard of a company where you have to pay to get a job there.

I saw that pay to work bit too and wondered what that was all about I wasn't willing to shell out the cash it seemed strange to me

There are many large companies that are using these kind of services for call center activity. i think it is a great idea for folks who want to or need to work from home. I know that at least some of the companies have an arrangement that you set you own availability for work times.

Paying to train isn't that uncommon - especially in a guest services industry like telemarketing. Let's face it, not everyone isborn with phone skills and since they are hiring you sight unseen (as you will be working from home, they need a commitment that says are properly trained and won't flake. Bymaking you pay, you've committed something to them.
