TA webinar stated that for split stays put a longer ticket in the first stay that will carry over to the second stay. Valid dates will be for the TICKET itself since it's longer than the first resort stay. Ticket will NOT be valid for the length of both stays. For example first stay is at Pop Century for 2 nights - purchase a 7 day ticket with that first package stay - check into another resort on or off site after checking out from Pop. In this case a 7 day ticket in this 2 night package OR purchased separately is valid for up to 10 days.

Can no longer activate a package ticket before check in. This is a biggie for lots of people!

Tickets purchased separately will only have the validity of that separate ticket, only tickets purchased in a package are valid for length of stay.

So split stays will not get you the full length of stay?ouch.
And I never booked packages only room only, so again screwed there.

Looks to have no bearing on booking FP, that should work same as before but with the limitation of how long the ticket is valid for when purchased separately from a package or that is longer than a package stay. It's just how long a separately purchased ticket is valid for. According to my chart:
1 day valid on just the date chosen
2 day valid for 4 days
3 day valid for 5 days
4 day valid for 7 days
5 day valid for 8 days
6 day valid for 9 days
7 day valid for 10 days
8 day valid for 12 days
9 day valid for 13 days
10 day valid for 14 days

Validity starts on the first day chosen as the start date when you purchase the ticket, can add the flex option to any ticket to make it valid for 14 days from first use. Can make changes online or on the MDE app or with your TA if you used one. No refund if moved to cheaper days, pay the difference if moved to higher priced dates.

Also mentioned was that Disney Cruise Line would have tickets available that are good for up to 14 days from first use, must call DCL as this will not be online. They went through this kinda fast, I assume you have to book the resort nights on either end of the cruise with DCL to get this type of ticket. Will update this definitely when they post the re-broadcast on the TA site tomorrow.

UPDATE: Yes, the resort portion of the stay mist be booked with DCL to get these tickets.
Won't benefit those who stay off site or on DVC points pre or post cruise.

I am wondering if I missed something. We have a bounceback for this coming aug 2019 booked. I was comparing prices before and after this change. Currently have POR, but I have been going back and forth thinking of switching to AoA. I noticed POR gives me the option of a 10 day ticket, but AoA only up to 9days. Checked other hotels for my dates and it seems mod and Deluxe give 10 day options, but value only up to 9 day ticket options. A bug perhaps? Or is this a new change too?
So far POR as of today is $42 cheaper then what we have reserved. Ticket prices for our dates went down.

I'd lean towards bug. I wanted to see the difference for an upcoming trip. When the ticket selection loaded, there was no 5-day option. Went 4-day then 6-day. After selecting 4-day and selecting to modify the ticket portion of the package the 5-day option showed up.

Based on ticket pricing updates made today for Walt Disney World, we have a good guess at when we will first be able to visit Batuu at Disney’s Hollywood Studios ... As of today, Walt Disney World theme park tickets can be purchased through December 16th, 2019. Based on this and current internal rumblings, it seems very likely that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is set to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios between December 17th and December 20th, 2019, the last days of Fall.

it's always hard to know exactly - and to be honest, I wouldn't plan a trip explicitly for something before any official announcement from Disney (and maybe not even then based on the Rivers of Light fiasco) ... but if you go in thinking it is a bonus if GE is open then great, but not that if it isn't open your trip is ruined

Is this price difference really going to affect crowds? The biggest benefit from going in non peak times is lower resort prices. This just seams like a waste of time.

My mom is schedule to come with us for 3 days of our trip. Right now tickets on UCT are $309. Disney's new ticket price is $323 after tax for one person but it looks like it would have been $346 after tax the old ticket price. I'm guessing she should wait until UCT starts offering their new tickets because I assume it will be less than $309 for her days?

I face the same dilemma for tickets I need for February. UT has 5-day hoppers (eticket) for $458. Disney's new price is lower than it was before: $511 (including tax), which equals savings of $53. UT currently offers a savings of $50 - $65 on most tickets, so I'm inclined to think the new UT tickets may be the same or lower price than they are now. Why risk it? Well, the etickets are non-refundable and remove the option of buying an AP (instead of upgrading in February) if any DVC promotions are released. None of us know what the future holds! In your case, I'd probably wait.

I realize we sometimes (often) do Disney much different than your typical, average guest, but some of these changes really have the potential to mess up our usual touring style. I imagine for the most part we will adapt, but at some point we will start to throw in the towel and decide it's not worth it anymore to keep adjusting. My DH already mentions periodically that we should go other places more often and I've kind of resisted, but the resolve is lessening...

For those with packages already under deposit before 10/16/18:

Ticket pricing WILL change if:
changing from rack rate to a promo rate or from one promo to another
changing a room only reservation to a package will get the current ticket pricing, not the pricing at the time the room was reserved
re-instating a package that has cancelled will have current ticket pricing
changing ticket length or ticket type wull have the current ticket pricing

Ticket pricing will NOT change if:
changing a resort or room type
changing travel dates or # in your party though your resort price might change
adding or deleting or changing a dining plan
adding Memory Maker, ground transportation, trip insurance, or any other package add ons

Of course this assumes that the CM is fully versed in the new system, I can see most of these being referred to the Guest Services desk.

Of course not. It’s about squeezing a few extra dollars out of everyone who travels in peak time.

I just started weeding through this new thread, so I'm not sure if this question has been asked or not. For fun, I priced out a 4 day ticket with a start day of December 23rd. My understanding was that you had a window of 7 days to use a 4 day ticket. Take a look at the wording when I priced it:

"Your tickets are valid for admission to one theme park each day on any 4 days from December 23, 2018 at 12:00:00 AM EST through December 29, 2018 at 12:00:00 AM EST."

My question: Could I use this ticket on December 29th?? It says it's only good through 12:00 AM on December 29th. This is confusing. To me, that means you can't use it during the day on December 29th since it expires as soon as December 29th starts...at 12:00 am.

Am I just reading this wrong? I haven't had my afternoon coffee yet so maybe I'm missing the obvious?!?

You have a 7-day window with a 4-day ticket so if day one is the 23rd (24, 25, 26, 27, 28) 29th would be day 7.

well, I think it is more just so Disney can get more $ during peak times ... but I do wonder if there is some side effect of just the mentality that Disney is doing this to push people to slower periods, and crowds are one of the biggest complaints so maybe people use this to target when slow periods are and there could be some movement .... but more from a mentality standpoint and not concrete $ savings
