Walt Disney World College Program?

Ok, but not totally true Michelle...remember? Our entire building was Hospitality interns. See, the hospitality program is the only one that somewhat corrilates to your major. I was Hopsitality managment and Tourism major in college so the hospitality program was my first choice. I believe you get 3 when you do your interview (I can't believe I ever stressed out about the interview...it was so much fun)
But the hospitality program is the longest program besides the AI. (or it was 6 yrs ago) ours lasted 6 mths where as the others lasted around 4. So they tried to group all the hospitality students together so roomies wouldn't be moving out and us having to get to know new ones halfway through the program.
But, you can pretty much choose which ever option you want to try and like I said I think you get 3 choices...then once you've been interviewed you get grouped into whatever area the recruiters think you'll do best in...according to not only your interview answers but your resume.
And no, I didn't come home with any money. Thank God we got our last paycheck after we left...that helped tie me over till I could get another job back home!

oooohhhh, and don't forget overtime. Its really easy to get extra shifts if you need the money and you can pretty much sign up for anything anywhere. So say you're a park greeter, you could sign up for a parade walker or some such. I think the only OT shifts you couldn't get was the ones that you had to have been trained in. Like Resort Front Desk and ride operators...things like that
WEll, gonna take a break and go :smokin: these bad babies of mine are down for their nap.

Ahh so true thanks for the correction!

The hospitality program was the best back in the day and the best shifts for me were when i got to be in the phone room :) sitting down for the whole shift and fooling around on the computer while making an attempt to answer questions :) sounds like me right now...oh except i don't get paid...

If you are searching for a long lost roomie or friend, have you tried this site:

www.disneyalumni.com

it's GREAT and i met some new friends over there too!

Have a great day everyone!

ugh, that was aweful. poor girl. Glad we didn't have anything like that during our program...at least that I'm aware of. Too bad that thread turned into a nasty debate at the end.

I was there Fall '05. I literally had the time of my life. I worked at Magic Kingdom in QSF&B, Stands East. The work could be tedious but I worked with such awesome people that it didn't matter. I lived at Vista Way and even though I still think I got ripped off apartment wise (since Chatham is wayyyyyy nicer) we still had so much fun there. I become great friends with lots of people and plan on staying in touch with them for years to come. I miss it soooooooo much and I plan on doing another program before I get out of college :teeth: I did sign on as seasonal though and I might be going back for a week in October to work and then spend some time with friends playing in the parks :thumbsup2

HomeSweetDisney: Welcome!!!!!!

Just wanted to update that I will be going back for Fall 2006. I was accepted as a character attendant! I will be checking in August 2 and can't wait! :cheer2:

Joanna71985--> CONGRATS!!! have a great time!! you will be there while i am on vacay! keep us posted on what you are doing and where! Character attendant sounds cool!!!

So do you know the stats on how many apply vs how many get accepted. I am hoping I can convince DD to do this when she is in college. She is only 9 now but I like to plan ahead. :rotfl:

I sure will! That was my #2 choice (after character performer, which I didn't get sadly. Maybe someday). And I believe people get accepted for the most part disneymom3. As long as you are in good standing with your college and are a good person, you should be fine.
