Walt Disney rolling over in his grave

while your talking about beer,,what is in

the stuff in France, I had half of a cup and I was out of it,

I think it's great that they sell beer in the parks. Mot everyone I have seen is simply enjoying a drink or two while strolling around. Absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Wow. I can't believe how uptight some people are about alcohol. :scared:

i mean there on vacation! my parents drink a little when there on vacation!;) its not like a beer garden where they have beer everywhere selling it to god knows who!

/
but having tons of people walking around w/ beer is dirty, smelly, & common.

I think that comment is a little extreme and not to mention rude. I have never seen a problem with it when we have been there. Before you ask, yes we like to have a beer and walk around Epcot. I think it is great. Neither I nor my husband have yet to spill a beer on anyone or ourselves for that matter. Dirty, smelly and common. PLEASE! :headache:

I certainly understand business & I know that beer has been sold in EPCOT for years ... but having tons of people walking around w/ beer is dirty, smelly, & common. WDW's joy is largely in the fact that it's not like anywhere else in the world. Now it is. It smells like Six Flags now. Blecch. And I saw 2 people spill beer on children while I was there.

Is it okay to walk around with a margarita in Epcot? I did. :drinking1 I have to know, what drinks are "common" and what aren't? Or are they all common? :rotfl:

Wow. I can't believe how uptight some people are about alcohol. :scared:

Speaking only for myself: my sensitivity to alcohol comes from growing up in an enviroment where it was abused and created great hardship for many people.

Wait, is the problem that beer is present or that people are being encouraged to pour it into plastic cups? Would it be less "common" and offensive in glass steins?!

My husband and I are both avid beer drinkers but we never drink to get drunk...it's just a yummy beverage that we enjoy with food. So I'm all excited about walking around w/ beer myself.

Alcohol, aka "liquid earplugs" (Frank Barone, "Everybody Loves Raymond"), just what I need after a bus full of screaming kids! ;)

Wait....hold on....adult people get to drink while they are on vacation? What has this world come to?

Seriously, I'm taking my 19th trip in 2 days (yippeeeeeee!!!!!) and I don't think I've seen a drunk on any of those trips. I was probably having too much fun to worry about what other people were drinking.

I'll be sure to drink a toast or two to the DIS. :)

I enjoy grabbing a drink when I want to. Especailly at the WS in Epcot. I don't see a problem with it, unless of course there is someone who is publicly intoxicated and causing problems for others.
I never saw anyone way out of hand when we visited, just people having a good time.

The only time recently I've seen drinking at a park as a problem was the Saturday after Thanksgiving at MGM. It was extremely crowded in the middle of the Osborne Lights. I saw several people who'd had too much to drink. One lady proceeded to dump her beer on me. Later on, a guy was gesturing rather wildly and hit my DD. Fortunately, she wasn't hurt. I'm not crazy about the drinking at parks other than Epcot, but most of the time it isn't a big deal. Crowded conditions and drinking do not mix well.

My advice would be to avoid Epcot from late September to early November. Forever.

Yes, stay away! :scared: Do not pass go, do not collect $200. You would be forever scarred from the experience of the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot.

Should I say that I have been to 8 out of the last 10 festivals? No? Oops, my bad.

Seriously, it is too bad you let something like adults enjoying adult beveages offend you. Walt made Disney World for kids of all ages, not just the ones under 21. And some of us adults like to have a little drinky now and again. Being in the World Showcase at night, listening to all of the different music, and having a drink is one of my most favorite things!

My only problem with beer in the parks is that beer is usually served in short plastic cups filled nearly full with no lid, thus more likely to spill than, say, coca-cola, which is typically served in a tall cup with a lid and straw (except at AK, where there are no lids). If I had the choice, I'd rather have cola spilled on me rather than stinky beer.

Last Saturday at Epcot we were royally annoyed by a group of obnoxious drunks (four couples) on their way to the Rose & Crown pub. They were all over the walkways, spilling beer and making it difficult to get around them, yelling profanities (every other word was an f-bomb), acting like grade-A jerks. As far as I'm concerned, the problem wasn't that they were allowed to walk around with beer; the problem was that they were grade-A alcoholic jerks, who happen to make up the minority of beer drinkers.
