Walt Disney FINALLY gets Oswald the Rabbit back!!

Read this story! Al Michaels is allowed to go work for NBC and a part of the deal was for the ownership of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit!! Walt finally gets his creation back!

I don't know how much this will mean to most people, but this article actually brought tears to my eyes! Finally, Walt Disney gets Oswald back! How incredibly AWESOME!!!!

Seriously, I guess most people don't realize how important Oswald was. I'm glad he's back home.

DS did a report on Walt when he was in 3rd grade (he is now in 8th) and he will be very glad to hear this. He was always telling me about Oswald!

Matt, I think you are correct in that most people don't realize the importance of Oswald. For those of us who are really Disney buffs, reclaiming Oswald is a momentous event!

as we were driving to Disney last month. It was on one of the Disney podcasts that we listen to. I think it is wonderful to have Oswald back. From what I understand Walt had went to New York to try and raise funds and was informed on the trip that Universal was taking Oswald away. Walt telegramed Roy and told him that the New York trip went well, not to worry. He was riding a train back to California and developed Mickey Mouse on the trip. I think there should be Oswald toys, stuffed animal, pins maybe a ride if there are enough Disney lover's who want one. Maybe a ride showing Oswald taken away and the effort to get him back. I don't know but I'm so excited, Walt must be smiling. Go Bob Iger you have really impressed me.

I only learnt about Oswald last year when my whole world revolved around disney.......

Bought some reading material on my xmas trip and learnt more, it wasn't mentioned much in the walt disney story at MGM guess it's due to the delicate nature of the whole thing

Any way I was shocked when I read about the story behind Oswald and I am now really happy to see him back where he belongs

I kinda agree with this one. If it wasn't for the loss of Oswald, we wouldn't have Mickey...Can you imagine Disney without Mickey Mouse???!!??

I could not agree more. Bob is bringing back the spirit of Disney. I hope his efforts continue to bring back even more of the Disney "MAGIC' for all of us to enjoy.
