I love it. The only store in town that has good selection and it's hard to beat the prices. Plus it's about the only thing open 24 hours in my city, so late night at iHop followed by a Wal-Mart run is always fun

The one near us is an old (and small), crowded crap-hole. I avoid it like the plague. But if I happen to be near to one of the newer, nicer ones, I'm all over it!

My mom worships wal mart. We go there every few weeks and spend probably 200 dollars. It has everything you could ever need in one convenient store. I personally get a little scared in there sometimes just because its so crowded. Everywhere I go I'm surrounded by 10 other people. It makes me feel a bit claustrophobic.

Retail goes in cycles-KMart is just the former shell of what it was in the late 80's and early 90's. With the growing core of people who refuse to shop there and bonehead upper management decisions (layaway removal, poor black Friday ads), Wal Mart will go down that path too.

I drive past 3 Walmarts to shop at Meijer, with $3.00 gas, that should speak for itself.

Wally World. I love the ones in Florida or at least the one in our town. It has just about everything. Don't care for their clothes though. The entire universe is NOT under the age of 25.

My favorite part of the store is the garden section. There's an older woman who works there who knows everything about Florida plants. On the down side, their deli service is the worst I've ever seen. Bring that novel you've always been meaning to read... yeah, the wait is that long even if you're the only person in line.

I'm at the store so much I'm on a first name basis with a lot of the employees.

I am lucky to be able to afford to shop elsewhere but I see the value of Walmart to those that really need it or want that kind of a deal. I don't have political issues with Walmart as ours is in a location where all the local mom and pops are still thriving. (that is where I shop) I chose not to shop there because ours is gross. I am more of a Target girl.

All of those in our area fall under "scary places" as someone mentioned. Targets here are so much better overall as far as cleanliness, prices, staff, and (yes I am going to go there) - clientele. You only have to walk into one of our Walmarts and Targets to see the difference. I LOVE tar-jay and can spend waaayyy too much in there!

I do go in to Walmart with a relative who does shop there. I have compared their prices on some of my "staples" and they are not lower than I can get elsewhere and in many cases are quite higher - probably a regional thing, as I know many people feel Walmarts prices are lower.

We have one in our small town. I refuse to shop there. We get things from the small merchants when we can and stop in the city once a week to get the rest at Target. Have not been in a Walmart in over 5 years.

Hated Wal-Mart until I moved to where we are now.

There is a brand new Super Wal-Mart just around the corner from me. It's an upscale neighborhood and the place is AWESOME! It's clean, the workers are friendly, the produce is good and fresh, the meats are decent. I LOVE IT. The PRICES are awesome. I hardly ever have to go to Publix which is across the street.

However, I go on Tuesday or Wednesday morning. I HATE the place on the weekends. Everyone and their brother/sister from a 20 mile radius come here on the weekends. During the week is quite with just a few older people and other SAHM with babies walking around the store.

I know their "schedule". Can't go on Mondays because the shelves are usually empty and it's actually fairly busy. Try not to go on Tuesday because that is when they get their big shipments so you are dodging all the loading machines and crates in the store. Wednesday morning is the PERFECT time to go!

The one closest to my house is fine. Not a super Wal-Mart, but it's pretty big. I find that they have clothes for me...not 16 years old and not a size 2. I don't find that at my local Target...they are more the "you can buy our clothes if you're 16 years old and a size 2". Our Target's version of "Women's" clothes is a bunch of "Just My Size" t-shirts and sweatshirts in size 16 & up waaay in the back left hand corner of the store, where no one will see the fat old ladies.

As far as unions and such...people have a choice whether or not to work at a unionized corporation. No one held a gun to anyone's head who works at Wal-Mart and forced them to work there. I assume if they have chosen to work there, they chose it knowing full well that there was no union. So, quite frankly, don't choose to work somewhere and then cry about how they don't have a union, you're not treated fairly and so on.

It happens to be the closest place to buy stuff from my house...so its a no-brainer I go there a lot.

One of my credit cards was placed on a suspected "fraud" hold last week cause I used it 3 times at the self-checkout in one day

I have a Walmart Neighborhood Market 2 blocks from my house. I'm there about 3 times a week.

I avoid the Super Walmart like the plague.

On the rare occasion that I actually go to Walmart, I feel like I need a shower after I leave and it puts me in a horrendous mood for the rest of the day. Not worth it.

I hate going to the Walmart that is in the next town. Not so much because of the store, it's because the majority of workers and clientel are idiots! They talk like idiots, the look like idiots, and why do they seem to think it looks great to roll out of bed and go there in pajamas? Don't even get me started on the people who wear sweat pants that are about two sizes too small.

Where do these people come from? I never see them at the supermarket or the bank.

My two closest WalMarts are dumps. They are always crowded and I have consistently found the quality of items sold there to be inferior, whether it is clothes, shoes, cookware/appliances, tools, or anything else. KMart is a little better b/c they have the Sears brands now (Kenmore, Craftsman).

I have to agree. I very rarely shop at our local Walmart. I will say that when I was in Florida this summer I did shop at the local Walmart there and it was a very different experience.
