Anyone know if there is a quality difference between princess costumes at TDS versus Walmart? DD's 4th b-day is coming up and she wants a Cinderella costume. I have a coupon for $5/$10 (depending on how much you spend) off at TDS. Costume at TDS if $34.50 versus $20 (I think) at Walmart.

BTW, we're going to PSB for our late Sept. trip. I was thinking that she could wear it then even though Cindy won't be there. Do you think the other princesses will still ooh and ah over her?

We have both kinds - I like the quality of the costumes at the DS better although the ones at Walmart are very good quality for the price. There is more detail on the ones from DS. From DD's point of view she thinks the ones from the DS are itchy and is not bothered by the ones from Walmart. If you get the DS ones, I would have her wear a sleeveless leotard under it to prevent "itching". I think you'll be happy with either one!

Sorry, I guess this doesn't help you make your decision, huh?

Okay...my daughter is 2 1/2 and has been to WDW 5 times...each time she wears costumes to the parks..breakfasts etc. She is small and has worn some of the costumes for all 5 trips. I have only purchased the costumes from Disney. I do not know about the quality of the costumes at the Wal-MArt, but I really get my money's worth out of the DS costumes. I have found them to be high quality and have never had any trouble. I also purchased the Minnie Mouse Coustime from WDW because it is all cotton and is much cooler. If your daughter will wear the coustume, let her...she will get attention. Try and have her wear it to the MK one morning and get her pic taken in front of the castle! It will be a great shot. Hope this helps! Good luck and have fun!!!princess:

My DD is also a big fan of the princess costumes. She is almost four but has been into the costumes since before her second birthday. I do not know what the Wal-Mart ones look like but they sound like a nice price. However I have always bought DD's at TDS on sale. After Halloween I buy more and accessories like shoes etc. She plays dress-up with them plus takes them on our Disney trips. She loves wearing them in the parks and espcially to the princess breakfasts. She always gets lots of attention in her dresses. Even if she is not wearing the dress of the princess she is meeting that princess still comments on her dress, wand, crown, shoes etc. Yes, DD goes in full costume! I try to dissuade her but she is insisitent about it and usually lasts a long time in the whole outfit! I always have clothes with me though for her to change into including a pair of sneakers.

I find the DS costumes to wear really well. I recently sold all of DD's 2T princess costumes that she had outgrown for $8.00 a piece at our church consignment sale. They were in great condition and DD had worn them ALOT!!!

Enjoy Disney with your princess! ::MinnieMo
