I saw today that they are setting up a whole Martha Stewart section and a big cricut section.

my walmart has a ton of stuff on clearance because they are getting ready for the martha stuff. yuck on martha. sorry.

Lots of clearance here too.
I picked up some Mickey Mouse titles for $1.50 and some of the Mickey & Minnie fireworks stickers for $2.00. Found the 6 pack of Disney paper for $3.00 and plain cardstock in neutral colors 12x12 & 8-1/2x11 for $2.00. Not the super best pricing, but better than normal. And I really needed the paper. ;)

:rotfl2:
It's so bad, my need for paper, that my DH had to make me another paper rack. And I still have paper stuck in a cabinet because I don't have room in the racks.

Not sure where you're from, but I've noticed that the scrapbooking section of our SuperWalmart has been clearing out BIG TIME. Maybe this is the reason? I haven't even seen anything from MS from anywhere. So I'm not sure why nobody like it's. LOL But I'm hoping our WM gets more scrapbooking and Cricut stuff.

Hey Everyone! New to the scrapbooking boards!

About a week and a half ago I picked up an armload of Disney Jolee's that was on clearance. I got titles, pockets, sticky brads, paperclips, paper, etc, etc, etc!

Definitely not the BEST prices, but for Disney stuff it was still really good!

I noticed this too... I got tons of princess stuff and the Castle that Jolees put out. I also grabbed the Disney memories stickers for $.75. If you can get to your closest one, you should definately check it out.

Boo to Martha though.

I think I am missing something...why is everyone down on Martha scrapbooking stuff? I have never bought any but I have admired some of the colors she uses. I think the giagantic scrapbooks she has at Mike's are just too huge but I guess I never thought much negative about her products. I wonder why her scrapbook stuff is going in at Wal-Mart and not K-Mart? I was just at my local supercenter and while they had maybe 10 things on clearance it didn't look like they were clearing anything out. Hmmm..need go back and check in a few days I guess.

Most people are mad at Martha because she called scrapbookers "frumpy".

Me, I didn't hear her say it because I don't watch her. I don't have an opinion on her items because I haven't really looked at any. My favorite story is that she burnt her first Thanksgiving turkey and yet made herself a fortune in the "home making" business. Goes to show you that failing once doesn't mean you will always fail. :)

I just ran to walmart on my lunch hour, and they were completely out of Disney scrapping stuff. I am switching from paper to digital, but I still need to complete some paper scrapbooking that is already underway. Bummer.

She snubbed scrappers and basically lied about "inventing" things like adhesive backed ribbon. She has a bit of an elitist attitude towards scrapping, in my opinion. Especially with all the restrictions she put on Michael's about not putting her stuff on sale and no coupons. Granted Cricut doesn't let you use coupons but they do have great sales.

I also think her 18x18 albums are nuts. My 12x12's are so heavy that I need a fork lift to pick them up, I can imagine how heavy the books would be at her size.

I do however like her organization for scrapping. She is very good at organizing, I will give her props for that.

:rotfl: Frumpy huh? Well then.
I had no idea about her when it comes to scrapbooking. I just saw those huge albums and thought it was crazy. She invented sticky ribbon like Al Gore invented the internet I guess.
That explains a lot. There is another thread here somewhere where they are irrate that the MS line is invading AC Moore too.

I was always a big Martha fan...but not her scrapping stuff. It's so expensive and those huge albums are laughable. I could easily live without any MS stuff. I'm really disappointed to see Walmart go in that direction. Honestly, I don't know anyone that has ever bought any of the MS stuff at Michael's. :confused3

Thankfully they have invaded just a small space at ACM, not the whole aisle like Mike's.

I don't know, she doesn't seem like the scrap book type. :rotfl:

I don't get it... Does the Martha stuff really sell??? Walmart had some cute lines too. Martha is too much one style and only one style. It is boring to me. Oh well...

The Michael's closest to me is the prototype store - they try stuff out there before going store-wide with it. It was quite noticeable when MS was moved from the first thing you saw to the back of the scrapbooking section.

Maybe Michael's contract to carry MS stuff is coming to a close and Walmart might have the new "almost exclusive"? Just a thought....

If I'm frumpy because I'm a scrapbooker, I'm happy to be frumpy!

I don't think so. I don't remember where I read it but someone had marked the back of an album or something, and would periodically check and after like 6 months it was still there.

I saw this thread yesterday and while I was in my local Wal-Mart today I went to check it out. Sure enough it's true. :confused3 I loved the other lines that Wal-Mart carried so much more than the MS line. I looked for Disney mark downs, but sadly there were none left. I did however find some other really cute mark downs. I will miss all of the other great stuff that they no longer carry in place of the MS products.
