Has anyone ever ordered one of those photo fleece blankets??

A message popped up for the photo that I chose that the resolution was too low so it is not recommended. I really want to use this photo of my DD's for grandma's blanket. Do you think it will come out ok? The size of the blanket is 50x60.

thanks for any help

If you're getting a resolution warning, I wouldn't do it. The image will be pixilated and blurry. Is there anyway to have the image printed smaller on the blanket, with maybe a boarder around it? That might solve the problem.

I went through this when I made a book for a friend recently, and what I did was go back and rescan the photo (since it was a photo from before digital camera days) at the highest resolution possible. (I also enhanced it in Photoshop, but you may not have that on your computer.)

Definitely take the warning seriously on an object that large, otherwise it might look like one of those posters from the 80s where you had to squinch up your eyes to try and make out what the picture was ;).

My friend recently ordered such a blanket and, according to his stories, he suffered a lot with it.

Where does the phot originate from? Your photo you took? Someone sent it in email? Scanned from an old film printed photo?

If it's your photo, you should have the original photo, use that one.

If someone sent it in email or other electronic means, the email software often reduces the photo resolution and file size to send it, ask if they have the original.

A scanned photo can be scanned again in a larger resolution.

OP's question was 10 years ago... I hope she resolved the resolution issue or chose a different photo and grandma has been enjoying the blanket for the past decade. :-)
Dagnabbit, such a short thread I didn't even notice.

No worries, mrodgers, you were being helpful. I'm going to have Walmart make a blanket using a screenshot of your earlier post, so anyone who sees this blanket will have all their questions answered. Pay it forward!
