Walmart on Old Lake Wilson Rd

Does anyone know if the new Walmart on 192 and Old Lake Wilson is a stand alone store or are there other stores in the same shopping center?

Stand alone. Is it open yet? It was supposed to open in November, when we were there. We left on December 9th and it still wasn't open.

It’s open. They had their Grand Opening a week ago.

We are staying at Windsor Hills this week. Walmart offers grocery pickup. I preordered online and picked up on Christmas Eve on the way to check in to the rental. Very convenient and nice to avoid the crowds in the store.

We happened to find ourselves on Old Lake Wilson Rd this afternoon and decided to visit the new Walmart for some grocery shopping. As expected we found the store fairly busy.

However we were surprised to find that the grocery shelves were not well stocked. For instance, the mayonnaise shelves were almost empty. There were gaps in many of the shelves. Hard to say whether they were sold out from the holiday crush or were still stocking up from the opening.

There were a lot of Walmart employees going thorough the isles shopping for pick up orders.

We found most of the items on our rather short list but I think we will continue to use the Walmart on 27 at Cagan Crossings.

We stopped there on the 23rd looking for a few Christmas decorations. The employee I spoke to said that they didn’t receive any as they had only opened a week prior. It was evident that they were still working through things.

I can't wait to try this when we visit this summer. I am hoping to stay a week at Westgate Vacation Villas and having Walmart this close is going to be fantastic!!! It may be a little under-stocked right now as others have mentioned, but I am confident they will have the 'bugs' worked out by the time the spring/summer crowds arrive!! I have been looking forward to this !! I can't wait to do the grocery pickup. I am going to love this option!!!

GREAT !!! I hope you let us know about your experience. I have really been looking forward to this Walmart opening. I am so excited to have the convenience of it being so close to where I am plan to stay. In fact, it has made me decide to spend one of my weeks at Westgate Vacation Villas. We love that resort and the icing on the cake will be the convenience of the Walmart!!!

We shopped for groceries there on 12/15 and found everything we needed. SO convenient to Windsor Hills.

How is it effecting the traffic at that light turning onto 192? Do they have a left hand turn lane to go to Windsor Hills? While we love the idea of Walmart so close, we were a little concerned about the increase in traffic. We will be there May of this year.

We used this Walmart last week twice during our stay at Westgate Towers - excellent store, tons of Disney merchandise, and the grocery area was very well stocked. They have a Jakes Wayback Burgers inside if you want a quick dinner out cheaply. Traffic off 192 didn’t seem bad - we took Old Lake Wilson the “back way” to use the light a couple times actually because getting out from the Towers is a challenge. Definitely nice to have this option so close, in addition to the Publix just down the road.

We have one about a half hour from us - good fresh burgers and you can get all sorts of toppings! Milkshakes are yummy too, and the prices won’t break the bank. Enjoy your trip- we love Westgate so much we became owners at Towne Center just this past week!

Westgate is where we fell in love with timeshares. Town Center/Vacation Villas is one of our absolute favorite places to stay. In fact, because of Westgate, my DD11 wants to spend more time at the resort than going to Disney. She learned her first line dances at the pool parties at Westgate. The pool parties are one of her favorite parts of vacation. Now with the new waterpark at Westgate, she barely wants to leave the resort. I hope you and your family enjoy Westgate as much as we have these past 10 years. Whenever we go, we always have a FANTASTIC time.
