Walmart ipad mini deal...what ended up happening...

Since we were all teetering on a food coma from Thanksgiving, I could hardly envision myself standing in line at our local Walmart.

Sure, the idea of an ipad mini for 299 plus a 100 gift card was tempting, but I would be limited to 1.

SO...we perused the walmart site and stumbled upon an ipad mini bundled with a bluetooth speaker/accessory kit. The speaker, normally for 39 was at 20 and the ipad mini was for 259. The total for all was 279.

I bought 3.

Sure it was a bit more, but every store was sold out of anything remotely close to this price, and we got a cool blue tooth speaker accessory kit. And all 3 kids are getting one.

I'm happy with this deal and it all happened from the comfort of my sofa, while snuggled under a throw.

My DH woke me up at 5 a.m. By holding his iPad up and saying, "Do you want this now, or would you rather wait in line for it?" I didn't even know what he was buying, but I knew that I didn't want to wait in line for anything! Lol

We arrived at our walmart at 5:55....walked back to the line for the IPods, the guy told us he was out of wristbands (I figured this would be the case) and he gave us a card to pay at the registers.
Walked to the register...waited behind one person, paid for the IPod and walked out of the store. I was back home by 6:30

We will get an email when it arrives and go pick it up. I just had to put in our order info online when we got home. Now that was another story. I guess everyone was on the site and it took longer to do that than for us to go get the card at the store and pay for it

Got to my Walmart at 5:50, got my wristband and did some shopping. Went back to trade in my wristband for the order ticket thing to pay for an Ipad at the register. Did that and picked up the Ipad in the vision department. There was a 'glitch' about the gift card, so I had to stand in line at customer service for them to refund the $299 I paid and charge me the $199. No worries. Home by 7pm.

We walked into Walmart at 4:30. They were already handing out wristbands and there was no line for them. We were told we could come back anytime before 8 to pick it up. We got in line to pick it up and pay about 5:15 because we wanted to get home quick. We were first in line to pay and out at 6:01.

They ran out of wristbands around 5:35, but when we left they had a line going for the guarantee cards. Those people had to go to the main register and main line to pay with their card though.

Were you able to register to get yours online? I think the lady rang mine up wrong. I don't have an "access code" on my receipt. I hope I can get this fixed!

This was our experience today too! We got in line around 5:45, no bracelet, the line moved quickly at 6:00, got our paper certificates, went to the registers and waited behind 1 person, and we were done by 6:22. I don't care that I don't have an iPad in hand this minute as long as I get it by Christmas.

I wondered if you all were told anything specifically about the $100.00 Walmart gift card? Of course the IPM were out of stock but guaranteed for delivery before Christmas. I just realized that no where on the receipt does it mention the $100.00 card.

Great deal...easy experience. We got there about 5:15, got 3 wristbands, and then looked around. We ended up waiting at the pallet for the Shark pro and grabbed 3 of those, went back and picked up the minis, checked out at the garden center and headed to Target for a TV.

We paid for the IPads first and used the gift cards to pay for the Sharks and a few things we picked up along the way. We all have a go with a money left on it.

Got to Walmart at 6:40 walked to where they were handing out the cards to order the iPad mini online. Very easy. I knew I didn't want to wait around for a long time. It's also ok I have to wait to for it to come in. Also got the other items I wanted. Was out the door by7:45 headed to Kohl's which is a different story.

I was told that when you do the 1 hour guarantee online that it would give you an "e certificate" and that you could either print out or take your phone in for a real gc.

My walmart was organized chaos! I was shocked at the amount of people there at 6pm. We waited in line to pay longer than it took to get the slips! But I fit what I went for. I'm really liking this 1 hour guarantee thing.

We went to our local walmart for the headphones, it was horrible packed...So we left went to staples to get laptops, got them went back to walmart it was much better by this time and got the 1 hour gurantee for my sister in law..I have to take some games back today I purchased at toys r us got a better deal on them at walmart..

I made a silly mistake and decided to head over to my Walmart at 2:30 to browse what they had and see if the pallets with all the sale items were open. So I got there and everything was out and available for purchase. I strolled along leisurely crossing each item off my list. So I went to inquire about where to get the wristband for the iPad mini and that was when chaos ensued!!! First the guy working at Walmart in electronics was soooo rude and was clueless too. All the customers I spoke with we're wonderful. It was the workers that I witnessed yelling at people and being nasty. I finally found the line and got my wristband then had to come back at 6 to get it. During the waiting, one employee was walking away from another of her co workers and as she passed me I heard her say "they irritate me....,.stupid *****es" lmfao!! My other Walmart has nice employees but this 1 was terrible!!

We had 5 people in our group, and we all got the cards. We got to Wal-Mart about 5:30. After we got our cards we went to the cash register to wait for 6:00. We checked out right at 6. There was an error because the cashier was confused about the whole gift card thing. All 5 of us had to go to customer service and have our cards checked out again. We were out of there around 6:30. We went online last night and got all 5 put in for shipping. The gift cards will be emailed when the iPads are shipped. We are going to have some very happy children on Christmas!

That happened to me several times. I just used the back button on my browser and continued from there.
