i wanted to share my new find I found at Walmart for touring the parks.
Finding the right bag for the parks is such a challenge. I have my overland bag that I bought specifically for DW and the strap really bothered my neck. I then bought a higher end Addidas back pack. This was comfortable but I did not realize until our vacation how much of a pain all those zippered pockets would be at the security check points. Then I got a Kavu sling for DW and I really liked that but sometimes the strap on that bothers my neck in the 90+ temps in the summer.
Now I have read several posts where people have mentioned fanny packs and I thought I would never be caught in one of those! But being in the crowded parks in 90+ temps with high humidity, and a having to constantly hold my son's and my water bottle I just want something comfortable!
I went to Walmart and checked out the camping gear. I found the perfect bag for DW. It has a small square shaped pouch with just one zipper which is pretty roomy. On each side of the pouch is a holder for your water. It even comes with two water bottles. It also has a strap that can fit either a small or larger size waist. It was only $9.99. I know it is technically a "fanny pack", but it is more sporty looking and it is COMFORTABLE. It is also easy to move around on your waist for sitting on rides. They also had one with just one holder for a water bottle and a smaller pouch.
The other item I saw which I thought someone might be interested in was a backpack that was made out of nylon and was about the size of a golf ball in its condensed form. When you need it, you just shake it out and you have a back pack.
Hope this is helpful to someone.
