in July, when i was visiting my family in detroit, i went into walmart to pick up a calling card for my prepaid phone (that i use when i'm in the US)..

in the past, i've always thought the clothes at walmart look really low quality...

but when i went in july, the woman's clothes were right when you walk into the store and looked really nice....not at all cheap or low quality....
so i stopped to see if they had anything in my size...and i was surprised to see tons of plus sizes in exactly the same styles as the smaller sizes..

so i tried a few on and was shocked to see how nicely everything fit..
so after over an hour of trying on tons of stuff, i ended up walking out with practically a new summer wardrobe and it cost next to nothing...
some of the blouses were on sale for $4......
really pretty blouses that you could wear with a suit or nice trousers and look really nice....$4!! that's practically free..

so when i went back to detroit in September (to help my mom through surgery), i of course headed back to walmart....and found some nice things for winter...

so what do i buy at walmart?
the surprising answer is clothes!!

Apart from a Satnav, some sunglasses and odd few bits I can't think we have bought much at all there. None of us like it, far prefer Publix for groceries and Walgreens for medication.

must things u mention already plus suncream

Much of the above and tide pens as they are great at getting out stains & for some reason seem better than the UK equivalent. Another purchase for us is usually a box of twinkies. It is then a stop at the ABC liquor mart for the JAck Daniels for DH as it is cheaper there than duty free and walmart. We love Walmart and they are all slightly different so frequently find ourselves stopping at several!

oh no I forgot to add that the very 1st alcohol I buy within the first couple of days is a large bottle of vodka from either abc liquer store or walmart liquer store - don't know how I'd forgotten to add that on the list!!! :rotfl:
