I know I've heard that you can not walk from OKW to POFQ, but while looking at Google earth, I've noticed that there is a service road that heads to POFQ parking lot from Bldg 17 across Millers Road.

It doesn't look all to far. Has anyone ever walked this road before ?

have not gone that way. and probaby won't - florida has lots of interesting things in their forest.

anyway the way that I did it was that grassy area between DVC way and POFQ - then walk up their drive way. You do have the cross over on DVC way these days. So it is safer

I tried one of those short cuts once. A CM caught me. I was told I was in a restricted area and had to go back the way I came.

We went out the main entrance at OWK (we were staying in building 13) and along DVC Way (formerly Community Drive for us old timers). Hung a right at the corner, stayed on the grass (no walkways there) until the entrance to PO. Then into the resort.

It worked out quite well.

that the way I have gone - you definitely said it much better

Just my personal opinion here, I wouldn't risk walking on grass. Our family that live in Florida remind us every visit to stay on walkways, do not walk through or close to landscaped beds, etc. :scared1:

There is no walkway between POFQ and OKW. You may be seeing the cart paths for the golf course on Google earth. You cannot walk on the cart paths unless you are carrying a golf bag and playing golf. The other area between OKW and POFQ is a construction site where they store heavy equipment, gravel, etc.

No... it wasn't a cart path. I'm a golfer so I would know better. ;)

It looks like a service road that runs through a parking area for CM's at OKW and heads north and comes into POFQ parking lot on the south side. But I bet we'd get stopped by somebody if we tried to walk it. I just thought I'd ask the experts here.

And as far as walking on the grass along the way.... I think that's the way we'll go. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the reply's. :worship:

That is the construction area you are looking at.

And the Disney security will stop you if you are walking on the side of the road. You're better off taking the boat or bus to DTD and then taking a boat or bus to OKW.
