Walkups?

There are a few key ADRs we did not get (listed below). What are the chances we can walk up for these? Do they accept walk ups?

Jungle Canteen for 4pm dinner for 5?

Space 220 anytime between when it opens to 1 pm for lounge or restaurant for 2.

I don’t know about Skipper’s Canteen, but that isn’t prime dinner time, so it certainly can’t hurt to ask, but I do know that Space 220 will only take walk-ups for seating at the bar since the lounge started taking reservations. There are only about 8 seats at the bar, so your chances of getting a walk-up spot without much of a wait are pretty low, and unless things have changed, you have to wait in line for your turn. They don’t take your name and number and text you like Nomad Lounge. People start lining up well before it opens at 11am, and the line gets pretty long. I haven’t personally been back in the restaurant area since they started lounge reservations, so I haven’t seen how that’s affected the line. I hope someone else chimes in with personal experience. Have you tried a dining reservation finder?

Skipper Canteen has a wait list - check the MDE app day-of to see if they can accommodate your party or just keep checking for cancellations. For Space 220, you will have to physically wait in line for a spot. I would start to line up prior to the restaurant’s opening time.

And this is for the bar not the lounge or restaurant correct? I am there with my 6yo son so we cannot be at the bar

Keep checking on the app for an available reservation especially the day before (when you have to cancel or be charged for a no show). I'd check vigilantly starting the day before you want to go to that particular restaurant.

Correct. Only the bar allows walk-ups. I’ve had great luck with a reservation finder. Keep checking, daily if you can at random times, for open spots. People drop them all the time. Since Disney is changing hours, more reservation could open that way as well.

I honestly don't know what the policy is at this point. We were there one day when they were telling people in line 21 and up only and then were there another day and I saw a kid who was quite obviously not 21 sitting at the bar. There is no legal reason in FL why he couldn't sit at the bar at Space 220. I just don't know what the restaurant policy is on any given day.

Definitely check the day before; Skipper Canteen usually has a few openings pop up. You may also have some luck as a walk-up (waiting list) depending on how busy it is when you go. That's not a busy dining time, but if if it's a busy day in the parks, that won't matter. I think they just don't do a waiting list when it's too busy.

We found a skipper canteen by splitting our party in half (2 and 3). What’s the chance we will be seated near one another?
