walking vs. water taxi to/from Portofino

About how long is the walk from PBH to the park and does the walking path take you to Citywalk (like the one from RPH)? Also, can you tell me where the water taxi from PBH to the park unloads? Any recommendations on whether you prefer the walk or the taxi? One last question, how far in advance would you make restaurant reservations?

Walk to US is over 4000' and IOA is farther. It takes you to CityWalk. Water taxi lets you out in front of the Nascar Restaurant. We went to every restaurant in the parks and Citywalk except Emerill's and have never made a reservation.

The pathway leads past the HRH and ends up at the entrance to USF. From there you can walk to Citywalk or IOA.
I don't hear about too many people walking from the PBH. I could see doing it once on the way over, early in the morning, just to see the pretty walking path.

Save your energy, take the boat. We did walk a couple times, but walking at the pace of excited kids on the way over, for well over a mile if you include getting into the park and to your first ride, we were looking for a place to sit for a while. It is, though a nice walk at a leisurely pace if you are not in a hurry.

My husband and I walked. It is a pretty walk and is worth doing at least once. I would suggest it in the morning when you are fresh and ready to go. My legs can get a bit tired after walking the parks all day! have fun...it is beautiful!

We always take the water taxi. I don't want to be tired before the day even starts, and when we are returning to the hotel, I'm always sooo tired that I couldn't even think about it. The water taxi's are great - its a nice peaceful ride - so relaxing.
