walking to mk from contemp

how long does this actually take? Is it smart with dd's 4&7? is it really faster than going monorail, doesnt monorail go to the other resorts, then to TTC? can you walk directly to mk or to the ttc? is the boat from contemp faster than walking?

It's very easy to walk to the MK. I wouldn't bother with the boat. It doesn't save that many steps.

I'd say it takes about 5-6 minutes from the CR lobby exit (that's if your dh really likes to move, as mine does). I've heard others say it takes longer, and your 4 y/o might not be able to keep up with that kind of pace. But it's such a great walk! There are the topiaries to check out, the personalized bricks on the Walk around the World, and the MK attractions getting closer and closer as you walk. Once you leave the lobby, MK seems VERY close (almost as if you're there already).

The monorail is probably faster IF you don't have to wait for it. If one has just left, walking is definitely faster. And if the monorail is crowded, I'd say walking is much more pleasant. The two things we loved best about CR: the view of the MK from the Tower (absolutely can't be beat) and being able to walk over.

We always found the walk quicker than the monorail. The monorail can take up to 25 minutes to get you to MK from CR. The walk is about 7 minutes, and that is just walking at a normal pace. WE loved being able to walk to MK. And no, you can't walk to TTC from CR.

We love the walk and since the monorial runs the opposite direction taking you to TTC, Poly, GF and then MK its IMHO much easier and faster to walk to the MK.

My kids never minded even when they were young. We always take the monorial back to the CR - its the first stop back and we are much more tired of walking.
