I have heard that from some hotels you can walk to Lion Parking than take the Tram, Do you have to show any proof of tickets or parking to use the tram?

No, you do not need to show anything to get on the tram. They are for anyone going into the DLR. The entrance to the parking lot for pedestrians is called the convention center walkway, and they refer to it on the tram to reference which stop you should get off at. :)

I stayed a couple of times, usually, the first of June and went to this parking lot on a weekday. The lot was not being used and there were no trams running. I think this lot is used for very busy days as an overflow lot when the parking structure might get full.

I'm not sure how often the structure fills up.

It became a gamble to walk to that lot only to still find the trams not running, so you have to walk even further through the huge, empty parking lot.

I've learned not to count on using this, unless you are going during high attendance days.

That parking lot usually doesn't open until later in the day when the deck starts to fill. Some days it isn't even used. So I would definitely not bet on being able to use it in the AM to get into the park, and depending on when you go, you might not be able to use it at all.

I've never been to DLR when they weren't using the Timon lot, and we go pretty often. They do park it randomly, though. Sometimes they park it early and sometimes they park it later. We also like to park there, so we have found no rhyme or reason on how they determine this-sometimes it's one way and sometimes another. As far as the walk, as long as they've already started parking, there will be trams. If they are not parking yet, you will have to walk. It's not that bad of a walk imo. You just cut across the parking lot and take the pathway to the front. The pathway is basically right on the other side of the guest drop off parking lot, and the path takes you right to where the shuttles are. It's really not bad, but you will have to determine it for yourself. The Hilton offers a shuttle as well, so you can always take that. You will be able to tell if they are using the Timon lot on your first day, as you will see trams running on the shuttle side which go to the Timon lot.

I would think next week this lot will be used sinced its spring break and the park is open 9am to midnight, but I guess we will see, thanks for the warning

Are you talking about the ART shuttle ? If so I know they charge, or is there a free shuttle?
