Walking to hotels on Ball from M&F

I understand you can't walk into employee parking to get to Mickey & Friends from Ball Rd., but can you still walk OUT of employee parking to get to Ball? If so, how do you get there from the tram drop off at M&F? Just trying to see if I can shave a couple minutes off my walk back at the end of the day. (I realize it's a hike either way but I don't mind walking.)
