Can anyone advise exactly the route we'd need to take to walk to Hess from DTD? Is it a viable walk or will traffic, construction, etc make it long and painful? My fiance has informed me today he wants a 12 pack of beer and won't pay gift shop prices for it :rolleyes2 Any issues with bringing (unopened) beer back to our resort on the bus? Thanks all!

Very easy just get off the bus and walk across the street to the Hess station. We do it all the time. They also sell really good pizza by the slice.

Thanks - walking from the Marketplace stop correct? Is the Hess station visible when we get off the bus? Never driven in the area, so not familiar with direction at all. Thanks!

Should be, just walk out to the street and look down to your right and you should see it. You might be able to walk a bit through DTD towards the World of Disney store and cross over there. Good luck!!!

No, it's around the corner and down a ways.

The parking lot you walk through to get from Marketplace to the Hess Station crosswalk becomes a construction zone on 12/1, so it's possible walking routes may change after that date.

You might want to check with DTD Guest Relations (behind Ghirardelli) or parking cast if you're traveling after 12/1. Or just try one of the routes mapped above by Alesia and follow any detour signs.

EDIT: I just looked at the proposed parking map eff 12/1, and it looks like the Casting lot will not be used for Guest parking after the garage opens, so the exit between Ghirardelli & WOD could be closed as well.

Sorry, as I look closer at the map provided by a previous poster you would not be able to actually see the Hess station from the bus stop. Even if you walk out to the street the Hess would be around the corner to the right. If you walk back through DTD towards the World of Disney store and out the back you'll be able to see the Hess across the street from there.

Good luck!!!

Have you considered a Grocery Delivery service instead? It sounds like the walk is going to get difficult.
We order breakfast food, juice, water, soda, beer, wine and snacks. I believe the cost of the delivery fee is offset by the savings of buying water and soda at Disney. Plus we save time and money by eating a quick breakfast in the room in the morning. We used Garden Grocer 2 weeks ago and were totally satisfied with their service.

Thanks for the info. I'm familiar with the grocery delivery services, but we literally only need a 12 or 18 pack of beer. Walking is the only option that makes sense - by the time we pay grocery delivery fees or an Uber fare, we would have been better off paying the inflated prices in the gift shop! :rolleyes2 But it does sound like a further walk than I thought so maybe I'll just fork over the extra money. Thanks for the responses, all!

It's not that far to walk. If you leave Ghirardelli and go straight through the parking lot to the street (and cross it), the Hess will be right there.

I agree, their pizza is pretty good.

It's really not that far of a walk maybe 7-8 minutes at the most. If you get off at the bus stop walk across the street there is a sidewalk. Follow it over to the Hess station. We have walked there many a times.

Not sure where you're staying, but there is also a Hess station right outside the Boardwalk resort. Just a short walk across the street. We've walked it several times to get our Diet Coke and beer to bring back to the BWV.

Orlando Theme Park Shoppers delivered a case of beer, a case of water, and a 12 pack of Coke to us at VWL two weeks ago for $44. We had it delivered to the room as soon as we checked in. Much easier than traipsing over to DTD our first night.
