Walking to DTD from SSR?

How's the walk? I think we would really like it at SSR if we could easily walk over to DTD. We haven't stayed there yet (the only DVC resort left for us to try, so we are thinking about it for our next trip--but it is hard to not stay over at the Epcot resorts).

Has anyone actually walked over to DTD? Let me know how it was!
Thanks!

We did it both times we stayed at SSR. We were in Congress Park and it took about 10 minutes to walk over. You enter DTD where the buses pick up for the Marketplace.

Did it from the Springs - nice walk...pathway is a meandering, nicely landscaped walk. DH and I did both walkways...and both were great. West End walk we did at night...and it was nicely lit and not nearly as long of a walk as I thought. A little confusing at the end...but only took a minute to figure it out.

Its not that bad of a walk. Especially if you are staying in the Congress Park section or the first two building of Paddock, nearest the Congress Park section.

I agree with the others--it really is a nice and enjoyable walk. :thumbsup2

Wow, that sounds very nice. We love going over to DTD, and it would be so nice to just be able to walk over and back. I guess I should request the 'Congress Park' area so we are close to the walkway.

Thanks!

I created this 'map' for This Thread , but it still applies here. We measured some distances around the SSR resort.

It's 0.35 mile from the overlook at CP to the entrance to DD Marketplace.

Some other distances around the resort are shown in Red, Blue, White, and Cyan.

We've done the walk after attending the members meeting at SSR. It's kind of funny as you look over to DTD; funny, as in it looks so close (seeing it over the water), then you look down the path that takes you there (and that looks so long) but then when you actually do the walk and it's not that far (after all).

Thanks for the map! And thanks to all for sharing your experience. It doesn't sound like a bad walk at all! We would really enjoy being able to just head over there, and when the girls are teens, I bet they would really like walking over there on their own. Sounds like SSR would be a great place to stay!
Thanks!

It is a great place to stay, and as you can see from Caskbills map , not hardly a walk at all!

We've stayed at SSR twice now and each time we walked to DTD a number of the nights. We also used the bus hub there to the other resorts for ADR's we had at those resorts. Very enjoyable. pixiedust:
