Walking time to parks

Planning to stay at a Universal resort hotel during our trip in spring 2012. Looking at Google maps, trying to get an idea how long it takes to walk to the entrances. Looks long! Not sure which hotel we will stay at yet. We'll have the FOTL privleges, but am really excited about Harry Potter, and not sure if that will be offered on Forbidden Journey. We will probably want to walk through the queue, but don't want to be lined up forever. What hotel will offer the fastest access to the park entrance and thus Wizarding World, and how long does it take to walk there?

Never even considered Universal, but DS has graduated from Disney rides, so we are doing a Universal stay, then going on a Disney cruise. Might have to stop by the Poly to see Wishes tho!

We just came back from HRH yesterday, and it was a five minute walk to Universal Studios, probably seven or eight minutes to IOA. There is no FOTL access to Forbidden Journey, but the great advantage for WWoHP is the early entry. We went at 7:30am and had seen everything by 9am, before the park was even open!

It's worth waiting on the FJ line at least once, after that there is a super quick single rider line. My husband and daughter did that line a few times and always ended up riding together anyway.

We just got back from the Royal Pacific on Sunday. The walk to IOA was about 15 minutes long - there are water taxis that will take you to CityWalk also. Definitely worth staying onsite!!!

From RPR to IOA is about 10mins max, its 7 mins to the bridge at Margaritaville, and this is not walking fast, probably another 3 to 5 mins to Universal studios, less if you go in the entrance by the side of Hard rock cafe, as long as its open.
HRH, is only mins to Universal and an extra 3 to 5 mins to IOA.
PBH is long ,going by the waterway its about 15 to 20 mins to Universal, Barb on here posted a shorter route ,where you go out and across through HRH.
Do not forget there is also the waterTaxis, if you do not want to walk.

If you walk up the right side of HRC, on the outside, you will run into the Blue Man Group theatre. Just turn right before you run into it and you will see an alternate entrance to Universal Studios.

Or, just walk towards the big Blue Man Group building following the landscaped pathway and then turn right.

IIRC, someone here posted a pictorial of the route from HRH to US, with step by step photos, including the parking spot # where you cut through some hedges. I just spent a while using the search function but couldn't find it. Does anyone have that link?

If you are going from HRH to US, I would just cut through the pool and take the walking trail. Walking through the HRH parking lot really won't save you much time and may actually take longer if you have to walk all the way to the front of the hotel and then to the parking lot.

The shortcut through the HRH parking lot is for those staying at PBH or if the pool area is closed when you head out for early entry at 7 am.

Thanks for the shortcut with pictures from RPH. I wonder if switching to HRH would mkae it even closer using the same shortcut.
