Walking shortcut from Cheyenne to the park?

I know that you can walk from the hotels to the park fairly easily, along the river, but I'm sure I read about a shortcut walking route from the Cheyenne - something involving going out of the Disney complex, that's supposedly quicker than walking the usual route. I can't find this in any of my books so I'm wondering if I imagined it (or even dreamed it, LOL!) Does this ring a bell with anybody?

If I have imagined this, how do you actually walk from the Cheyenne to the park - I know the route from Santa Fe to the park, and as the Cheyenne is just across the river from the Santa Fe, do you follow the same route? (presumably either crossing over to the Santa Fe side or walking the other side of the river?)

Sorry, I'm asking a lot of questions today but my son is having an unheard of long nap so I'm trying to get some planning done whilst I have a spare hour!!

I would think that the walk outside the complex is longer.

the outside the complex is along the main road, so not as safe as the river walk. yes, it is quicker, but not by a huge amount.
think u go out of the front gate, turn right, walk along and thru where the buses drop off.....
so the river walk is also more attractive too!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone - the river walk it is! River Walk from Cheyenne is the same route as from Santa Fe, yes? Do you have to cross over to the Santa Fe side or can you walk both sides? (don't want to waste precious time getting lost!!)

There two routes either side of the river, One that goes down to the Santa Fe past the SL and one that goes down to the Cheyenne from the lake with the path next to the HNY... there is also then a bridge other the river in which you can get to Santa fe to cheyenne or the other way round.
