Walking Sandals - LAST UPDATE

I have very flat, and very wide feet, with very bad ankles. I bought Crocs on recommendation from the Dis, but I hated them! They made my feet sweat and they didn't have enough support in the soles. They were fine for walking around the resort and to the pool and back, but I could have never worn them to the parks.

Mostly I wore Ryka sneakers to the parks (they're made for women), but I also tried Tevas and absolutely loved them. The arch isn't quite high enough for me, but they have a nice support and are just cushiony enough. I just bought the less expensive Hurricanes, but next summer I'll probably splurge and buy a more higher end pair.

:dancer: As of 15 minutes ago I have ordered a pair of Keen Newport H2's to add to my pending collection of DW sandals. That goes along with my Crocs Nile and the Merrell's that I ordered yesterday. I have to stop here otherwise DH is going to kill me when he sees all these shoes coming to the house - LOL!! Let's hope one of the three pairs will work for my flat feet :)
:dancer:

The Merrell's sound very interesting... I think I should check into them myself, since I have a toe deformity that prevents me from wearing the Keens.

I vote for Clarks sandals

I wore them on 2 different trips and had no problems. I have extremely high arches and my feet hurt just after standing to do the dishes. I tried wearing my cross trainer sneakers and they hurt my feet after a day of Disney walking. So I switched back to my Clarks and felt great. Already have 2 pairs packed for our trip next week!

I love my Keens also...will have to check out the Merrels...have flat feet also! I normally wear my sneakers in the am and my Keens in the afternoon!

Oooh, I so want those. I have a pair of Keen Trinidad and a pair of St. Barts...they are all I wear during the summer. Newport H2 is next but I have to wait until I can find them on sale

I got mine through Amazon.com for $72 and change. :cheer2:

All this sandal talk is making me wish for summer! I love wearing sandals and walking barefoot outdoors.

I have two pairs of Merrell's that I wore every day excetp when it poured our last two trips. They are Merrell Belluna Breeze and Merrell Belluna III

I also have a pair of Merrell Gardena, but they weren't as comfortable for walking all day. They rubbed between my toes

I bought these practically identical to Keens (Sketchers) for $13 on sale at Sears and DH got his for $6 at the Florida Mall last October. I have another pair I bought at the Sketchers store in Orlando Premium Outlet for about $25.00.

Where do you find Tevas and Keens? I've looked at DSW, but they must only carry them in the summer. Are Keens found in a sporting goods store rather than a traditional shoe store? The photo of the Keens above look really comfy
Just wondering,
Thanks!

I voted Keens to be my most comfy shoes, too, but it didn't post!! I buy my Keens at Zappos.com. They offer free, fast shipping and free returns also. I also like Chaco sandals.

I am curious what others like to wear. I am always looking!

Has anyone done a count here? I see lots of Merrills, Keens and Crocs on this thread.

I love my Teva's!!! :goodvibes
The most comfortable sandal I've ever worn!

I do wear Merrills daily though. I just haven't found any Merrill sandals that I like. Most I have seen are quite ugly.
I am not too "keen" on the look of Keen's either. :rotfl: So I haven't tried them.

Do Crocs run small, large or just right? I'm ordering online from their website and I wear 10 to 11.

Yeah Keens are kind of fugly but once you get used to that toe cap and not worrying about getting your big toe stubbed/stepped on, it's hard to wear regular flip flops or sandals again.

I have Merrill Tetra Diva slides that I wear constantly in the house but they're slippery on a wet surface. Keens never, ever slip on anything.

Zappos is good, onlineshoes.com usually a few dollars cheaper but they don't have the convenient free return/exchange.

i have two pairs of sketchers sandas that are absolutely fabulous. They are teva style, but the bottom is exactly the same as a sneaker, so there's the same support and they are very very comfy.

Crocs run about right on size, but it's better to wear them a tiny bit bigger rather than having them 'just fit'. They're made so that they hardly ever touch the sides of your feet (that prevents sore spots). I normally wear a 9 or 10 and the 10's are perfect. Crocs are wonderful, I have them in a bunch of different colors to wear at work so that they always match my scrubs! :)

I used to think that Tevas were the most comfortable shoes in the world, but that all changed with my first pair of Crocs. They are very very ugly but oh so comfy!

Here's another vote for Keen's! I have the Newports; wore them every single day when I was at WDW in March; not one blister, sore spot, etc....

It's winter here and I still wear them with socks! They're surprisingly warm!

I think it depends on the style. I have a pair of Beach that run big. I have two pairs of Niles and two pairs of the Aspens that run smaller. The Aspens especially run small. I usually wear a size 8, but had to get a size 9 in the Aspens.

I've worn all three styles of Crocs to WDW this year, but my Tevas are still the most comfortable shoes I own. I love the Teva Mush flip flops and the Teva Pretty Rugged leather sandals. Both have proved more comfortable for WDW than any of my Crocs.
