walking sandal recommendations

Tevas!! The were comfy and dried super quick- they also didn't make that squeaky sound when wet.

Teva Tirras changed my life, seriously. Comfortable for walking all day, cute with my sundresses, and they dry quickly when wet.

I like Chacos, Keens, and Eileen Fisher just came out with the best sandals that I plan to wear!

Bernie Mevs! I started wearing them at WDW a few years ago and since I won't wear anything else. I can go from open to close in them and my feet aren't even tired at the end of the day.

Depends on what you need...if your feet need some support, you would want to go with a Merrell or Clarks. Tevas and Keens are great but have less arch support. I fall into the former category and LOVE Merrell...I did several Disney days while pregnant in a pair of Merrell flip flops (but all of these lines have sandals, too).

I'll put in my personal vote of TEVA. I've got a pair of hiking sandals and the DH has a pair of river hiking sandals he got in Israel 10 years ago that still havent fallen apart.

We all wear something different.....the first time we went, we all bought Teva sandals. They were extremely comfortable. My DH still wears Tevas. I have worn Teva Mush flip flops and loved them, but then they seemed to change or maybe my feet just didnt agree with them anymore.......I found the Cobian Bounce flip flop that I love. My daughter wears tennis shoes, or Nike Flip flops, and my son wears tennis shoes or crocs. Tho he does seem to get hot spots when he wears his crocs, so I might just have him wear socks. Hehe Sometimes we will switch out shoes when we go back to the hotel ........flip flops in the morning, tennis shoes at night. Just gives the feet a break ;)

I love my Spenco sandals:

You can get them for around $50 at your local running store or online through Amazon. They're like an orthotic insole in flip-flop form. They come in many colors besides black, though I prefer black since it goes with everything. After 7 trips to WDW, they've never given me a blister, they're still in good shape and provide lots of comfort. The straps are a soft cushion, as opposed to rubber or plastic, whereas the sole is a studier, more firm foam & plastic support.

Teva Tirras are great but a little flat. I alternate between those and Ecco Yucatan which have more support than the Tevas but are a bit narrow (much narrower than Tevas) and bother my toe after awhile. Just ordered a pair of ABEOs from The Walking Store so we'll see how those are!

IF I wore Crocs I would be leaving that place in a wheelchair. I have never had anything less comfortable on my feet LOL!

I love Ecco but it really depends on your feet. Tevas don't have enough arch support for me and I didn't really like keens.

Teva Mush, Keens (certain models, not all) Birkenstock(the BEST) and my new love.Jambu! I also like the J-41 brand ok,if it's the right model. Certain brands make some shoes I like, some I don't- so be sure it's returnable if you don't like it much.(I bought and returned 4 pair of Keens this month before settling on Jambu shoes for walking/wearing) But I have some other Keens that I LOVE. I have very high arches- and I like the old style crocs, but I hate that the soles are slippery in wet weather.....any shoe that can mold to the shape of your foot like my faves is great. Clarks are nice, but for my high arches, just not right for lots of walking.

Teva, Clarks, and Sketchers Go Walks. I wear sandals everywhere but never again at FW. We had an ADR at Trails End and I was wearing my Clarks...got a nasty cut on my toe from a sharp wood chip. Ouch! That said Go Walks have become my FW footwear.

I have a pair of Tevas and a pair of Teva knock-offs from Kohls that are both extremely comfortable. Kohls has some again this year that are around $40-45 vs the $60-80 for Tevas. I take both pairs and my Sketcher Go Walks and the last two trips I have not had any problems with sore feet. Previous trips I was in tears by the time I got back to the room, not from blisters but just from being on my feet.

What is the name of the Teva knock offs at Kohls? I 'd like to go try them .

I also like and wear Teva, but last year my friend talked me into Abeo and those are even better!

Chacos are expensive but I swear by mine. They are the only shoes I own that I just know I won't have any issues with. They have great arch support. My feet start to burn and ache after being on them all day and the thick and sturdy sole of the Chacos makes those issues disappear. I have the style that do not have the extra toe strap, as I don't like the feeling of that. I've worn them through many downpours and they dry instantaneously. There is no fabric at all to the sole, so they absorb no water. I also like that the sole is thick enough that my feet are raised off the ground a bit, also keeping them dry. Plus, I fancy myself to be somewhat stylish and I think they look great whether I'm wearing shorts or a sundress. But everyone has different feet! When I purchased my Chacos, I made sure that I would be able to return them. I wore them on a trip to the grocery store that day and then wore them on a couple mile walk on a trail to test them out.
